Be very wary of this place. I like Autozone because they offer free engine light checks. My SUV began misfiring. I took it to a repair shop up the road, and they wanted $370 to "try" the spark plugs and wires, so I figured for that price Id switch them out myself. Now I will admit that I know very little about cars, but changing the spark plugs seemed easy enough to try myself. I took it up to Autozone, and one of the people behind the counter checked the engine light, which he said showed that cylinder 6 was misfiring. I asked for gapless spark plugs, and wires to go with. He sold me 6 Motorcraft plugs and wires (total of ~$70), not telling me these were not gapless. In fact when Id asked him why the box said I should check the gap, he told me that "they come pre-gapped, and should not need it". Well I took them home and changed them out myself, doing each one one-by-one, and making sure I got the wires straight. It was hell because the right side plugs were impossible to get to from the top. Had to go from underneath. After doing the first one, I had questions about the gapping again, doubting the info I got before. So I called them up, and a different person told me over the phone that the ones I got DO need to be gapped. He said that if I went up there, hed show me how. So I went up, and when I got in, the guy whod talked to me on the phone was busy, so I asked the other guy (the one who sold me the plugs). He insured me that they do NOT need to be gapped, and then proceed to show me how they have this platinum which he told me I would break if I tried to gap. So I took it back home and finished installing, taking his word on it. This did not fix the issue. Well, having given that a shot, I took it back to Autozone. Same engine code; cylinder 6 was misfiring. The next thing I was told to try was the ignition coil (another $80). This was actually much easier to replace... right up on top. Did not fix the issue. Now, HERE is where my complaint comes in, and the reason for my 2-star rating. When I took it back to Autozone for the third time, it was reporting many codes, including misfiring on multiple cylinders now. When I questioned this, the comment came up again about gapping. I told him how Id been told not to gap, and he then took me inside (kinda rude now) and took one out and showed me how to gap without prying on the platinum. So guess whats next. I went back home, took off the wheel so I could more easily get to the plugs on the passenger side (I advise this, it was MUUUCH easier than not taking it off), and checked and gapped all the plugs with the tool the man sold me. Most of the plugs were mis-gapped. Some were off by a whole mm or more. I re-gapped each one, all the while remembering how Id gotten the complete opposite story every time I asked the guys at Autozone. Bottom line is, I like how they will check your engine light, and the prices of parts seem fair enough, but just be wary that advice given here should be double and tripple checked... Save yourself hours of frustrating work...

First of all, as we entered the store we were behind another costomer who was giving a signature and the older hispanic male behind the counter made a comment as to how this wasnt a letter just a signature, the customer just laughed it off as i was thinking what a complete dick the attendant was. As i came to the counter i told him that i needed to return an item that i had bought yesterday from another location and purchase the the one i had come for. He continued to tell me that i could not return the item because i had installed it and then removed it. His manager, and older white male with grey hair, then came from the back to the counter and told me that i needed to take it back to the location that i had purchased it from because he was about to close his store and that the other store would want the customer serivice. I currently live in lewisville about 3 minutes from his store and had purchased it the day before all the way out at the HUB store on University in denton. I explained this to him and he told me that there was nothing he could do and continued to look at me. I then left and retured the exact same item at the Autozone location off of Main Street with no problem. This is the perfect example of HORRIBLE customer service!!!!!

i went into the store to ask for help with why my battery and brake light were on.. i had just had my battery checked and it was fine and needed further help diagnosing the problem. the man behind the counter told me all i could do was check the battery and there was nothing else he could do and just looked at me, holding his big gulp.. another worker piped in and asked him if my alternator was good. i said i didnt know and he continued to stare at me, sipping his big gulp.. so i exclaimed OK and walked out. he followed me out. and stood in front of my car without saying anything.. holding a machine to test my alternator. i guess he could help me after all. so while helping me, a girl came up who he proceeded to hug and chat with, so i guess he can speak after all! he tested it and said "you have a bad alternator, you should probably get that fixed" DUH. I dont know much about cars.. no, i dont know anything about cars and i was really hoping i could be helped a little.. he never told me i could buy the part there, never offered any further help.. good thing there is an oreileys across the street

I have been into this AutoZone several times before because I lived near it at one point. Yesterday I stopped in to replace a low beam light. The guys in the store were very friendly and helped me right away. I purchased the bulb ($100 - BMW X5 bulb) and I still had the same issues. As it turned out there were electrical issues that were causing the problems I was having. They allowed me to return the bulb with no questions asked. One of the guys was even outside with me, helping with the light. I did buy some high beam lights so that when those go out I can just replace them without having to stop. Great service and great prices.

If you want be assisted by the typical cool autozone employee, dont go here. Manager was unprofessional and rude. After purchasing break pads from an autozone in CO I discovered a knocking when Id turn--they were incorrect. I went to this store and explained the situation. When her (very friendly) subordinate inspected the vehicle, after being repeatedly told those were the right pads by his manager, he attempted to back up our initial statement. She met his attempts with distrust and told him wed have to go to another store bc they didnt have the parts. Ive been a customer for years and this is not a location I will return to
