I am a minor and have bought fish here for about a year with no problems. I have never been batted an eyelash by any cashiers or floor employees. Go there to buy some fish last week and a new lady was there. Talked to her for a little while so she knew I was an experienced fish caretaker and have had a history with caring for fish. It wasnt until after she left- I later learned her to be a manager- that she reapproached me and inquired about my age. I told her I was 16. Here is when I feel like she catches an attitude. "I cant sell fish to minors," she tells me, "its against store policy." I tell her I have always bought fish here with no problems, but she pushes. I decide to hold my tongue. I understand it is policy, but I had never been informed of this rule or been harassed by any other staff. I did not mention that I have set up a Pals Reward card under my name with another staff member who was aware of my age. My mother came and bought the fish with me. That night, the fish I got grew sick and died. The heater went out on my betta tank and unfortunately he died, as well. On Petcos website, it states that a return can be made with the receipt within 30 days. I wait 6 six days before I return the fish. Keep in mind they are in their original water that they had died in. They had, of course, detorited a good amount. I get there wanting to return the fish- with my mother- in a bag with the receipts. Same manager comes and gives me the excuse of needing the water in my tank to do a test in order to return the fish. I tell her I had already cleaned out the tank, and that the water in there was the water that every fish save the betta died in. "It wont pass the test," she argues. I was baffled. No one had told me about this policy on a single one of my previous purchases and it does not say so anywhere on Petcos website. Seriously? Cant you just return my fish? I have the receipt and it is legally within the return policy dateline? She still refuses. I say forget it. I am never coming back to this location because I feel as though the staff here are trying to cheat you out of your money and do not care about customer service. The fish I got here died anyways, from an illness from their own tank. I know this because the other fish that I had purchased from Petsmart had been in the tank survived with no problems. Read the reviews before you purchase a sick animal that they will refuse to refund.

If you are planning on taking your dog for grooming to this petco location then DONT. Terrible service! I made an appointment for today at 12:30pm, my dog needed a haircut and his nails trimmed. They told me it would take about 3 to 4 hours because they were very busy, I showed up like 3 and a half hours later (b/c I didnt get a call from them) and my dog "Reggie" wasnt ready. They said to please give them about 1 more hour that he wasnt ready yet so I did so. I stayed close by doing some errands and I then showed up again to pick up Reggie. At that moment I was informed they needed about 45 to an hour more because the lady had just finished showering Reggie and was drying him off. In all those 5 hours they just bathed him. Thats it so my dog was in a cage for half the day with no water and I know that because first thing he did when I brought him home is drink tons of water. To make it short I told them I wanted to take my dog home, to just do the nails. The lady ended up cutting a bit of hair from his face and did his nails. Didnt charge me for the quick cut as a sorry. Only charged me for bathing and nails BUT I am never ever taking my dog back to this place again. Never. I love my dog and this angers me a lot.

Really ill equipped grooming department. We tried to call several times to make an appointment, and no one ever answered the phone. So we went in to make the appointment. The girl apologized for the phone and said someone called in sick that day so it was just her. We made an appointment for the next week just for a bath, nail trim, and trimming an area behind her ears. They trimmed behind one ear, dont seem to have bathed her, and didnt even get all of her nails. They stated they were unable to finish because she was trying to bite. I worked in grooming all through college, and VERY few dogs cooperate with the grooming process. Thats why theres generally at least 1 groomer and 1 assistant. The groomer was alone again, and got help from a cashier who was obviously completely inexperienced. Instead of holding the dog, she just placed her hands on her back, doing nothing. Its not the employees fault, theres not a lot to be done if they arent staffed properly and have to rely on unexperienced cashiers for help. But Ill be going to a more professional grooming salon in the future.

I shop at this store because its convenient, closer to home and usually run in to get the items I need like dog food. I used to bring my baby here to get his nails trimmed and ears cleaned but after 2 bad experiences with his nails trimmed at different lengths, some not trimmed at all, seems they always do it in a hurry, I told myself we wont be going here to get groomed anymore. My baby never mind getting his nails trimmed. Now he fears it and will fight to go near the door to the salon. The customer service is usually good, except for when I went in yesterday to get some dog food, and a lady in a grey t-shirt, blue jeans, nose piercings approached the counter to ring me up. I didnt even know she was an employee. Guess Im so used to seeing them in uniform. She wasnt very friendly and seemed as she was bothered because she had to stop what she was doing to check me out. Will I go back, yea cause its convenient for dog food, but good and friendly customer service, guess its a hit and miss!

This store is run by children. They dont know anything about the store or how it is run, nothing about the rewards program. They are all usually rude. The managers are just as disinterested in customer service and the company. I have had 3 different managers argue with me about the way the Petco Pals reward program works. They dont have access to the instant activation rewards at this store and associates and managers will argue with you until you just give up trying to redeem your "reward". They always make me feel like I am trying to CHEAT them to get my reward that was EARNED. I dont think that these people realize that the people who buy food there, could just as easily shop ANYWHERE else. Plus all the animals look ill cared for. Just another example of the next generation. Hey Petco - get some grown ups to run your store, or at least INSPECT what they are doing from time to time.
