If I could put no stars i would but it doesnt allow that!!!! My family has purchased 3 vehicles from Callahan Auto. We trusted these guys. However here we are on car number 3 and these guys have REALLY lived up to the “Shady car salesmen” image. I’m 22, this was my first purchase. I was really excited about having such a good looking car. The car lot helped me get the financing I needed and I was on my way. A couple of weeks later I had a few mechanical issues that were covered by their warranty. They told me they did “about $4000 worth of work” to correct the mechanical issue it was having. They wouldn’t tell me however what they actually did, but everything seemed to be o.k. so, I picked up my Jeep and was happily on my way again. Here we are today - I was driving to work when I heard and felt a hard thump under my jeep and I suddenly could not control the car. I thought I was going to DIE! It was a loud thumping and scraping and my steering wheel was hard to control. It was locked up! I was scared stiff. Luckily I managed to regain control somehow but could only get as far as the median in the middle of the road. I called my job and they sent a couple of guys to help move my Jeep off the road and into a parking lot. I figured I must have hit something in the road, so I called my insurance company to file a claim. They had to have it towed to the body shop since it wasn’t drivable. My insurance company sent an inspector out and found my transmission HAD ALREADY BEEN BROKEN BEFORE and had been rigged up to stay ATTACHED to the undercarriage. This time however the transmission managed to break right OFF of the rigged up mount they had installed and nearly fell right out of the under my Jeep!! They also found A LOT OF FRAME DAMAGE and it was SEVERLY rusted. The ENTIRE front end of this Jeep was separated at the front right end and the engine was probably going to fall right out of the Jeep at some point!! The inspector told me my Jeep must have been in a bad accident before and was likely a total loss vehicle. It’s a complete busted up rust bucked!! The insurance inspector says he even wondered if the car had the airbags in it!! His opinion was that this damage was maybe 1-2 years old!! I called Callahan Auto and they brushed me off, they told me that I probably hit something and did this damage myself!! BUYER BEWARE!!! THEY ARE SELLING DANGEROUS TOTAL LOSS VEHICLES!!! I could have been killed or killed another innocent driver on the road thanks to these greedy guys a Callahan Auto!!!

We were looking at a used small vehicle for my nieces first car. We found one we liked and the car came with a 3 month/4500 mile 3rd party warranty. We came to an agreement about an "out the door" price and shook hands on it. I left a deposit and came to pick up the car the next day. That was when I found out that the warranty was no longer part of the deal. There was ABSOLUTELY NO MENTION of this the day before. So, rather than disappoint my niece who had already seen the car I continued on with the paperwork. I had to buy the warranty for $250. I thought the owner was trying to make it right, but he came back offering a year warranty for $750. Just unbelievable...how is paying even more money supposed to be better? I think even his employees were baffled at what he was trying to accomplish. Just excuses about their margin with no other attempt to make it right. Used to be when you shook a mans hand in Texas it meant something, but apparently not at this car dealer. Funny thing is their website shows our agreed to price WITH the warranty INCLUDED!! I have a printout and pdf of this for my complaint to the BBB. We were wrapping up when they reminded us about their referral program which got a big chuckle from my wife and I. Then tried to bribe me with a $25 gift card to put a good review online. Told them I would have to pass. To top it off something on the dash broke on the drive home when supposedly they inspect these things before selling. Thought I had finally found the one different car dealer, but they must not exist. additional: we had to put $700 into it, now it looks like the catalytic converter is out, that will be an additional $800. STAY VERY FAR AWAY FROM THIS DEALER!!! Ok...got a call from the dealer and he sent me a check for the $250, so I moved it up one. You dont go from 1 to 5 for doing what should have happened in the first place.
