I have a love-hate relationship with Whole Foods. This one in particular. I love that they always have really fresh food, and I can find certain obscure items that other grocery stores dont carry. What I hate about Whole Foods is that its this hippy elitist supermarket where I feel like Im being lectured about animals and the enviornment when I go in there. Its also obscenley expensive. I was in this location a couple of times recently, and after being made to feel (or at least his attempt was to make me feel) guilty about buying chicken in the meat department, after the hipster gave me a long spiel about chickens that are free-range compared to the caged chickens, he told me a story about cows being taunted at a ranch hed visited in the past. The following day, I was in the salad buffet area trying to get some lunch, and when I went up to have it weighed the total came to over $10. The whole point about going to the grocery store to get your lunch as oppossed to a restaurant is so that you dont have to pay restaurant prices. There were NO VISIBLE SIGNS anywhere indicating how much the food was per pound. "Oh, I didnt realize it would be that much," I began politely. "May I go grab something else instead?" I asked the young girl who probably earns about that much an hour standing there at the counter. She gave me an arrogant glance, and then as if Im supposed to know how much it costs she judgementally answered with, "Well, its $8.99 a pound..." There are no signs, Einstein. How am I supposed to know that? I suppose its my fault in part because I didnt ask at the offset. However, its still their responsibility to make that available to the public before they dish up and weigh up. In short, when I came back with a smaller salad, she was still judging me with her tone, asking if I didnt want the first salad. When I politely offered a, "Sorry about that," she didnt respond and proceeded to ring me up. Never smiling. I dont like Whole Foods. Theyre snobby.

Store is very small, overcrowded, and noisy. Selection of food is okay but again, because its a small location, that limits what they carry. They had someone doing live acoustic music in there today - in a place that small its so loud you cant even think. They also have what looks like their attempt at a trendy bar where I guess you order food, but it doesnt work very well. The hot food bars are tiny and they run out quickly. The parking lot is a nightmare. Yeah, you could blame it on the store being new but given there are two large restaurants and I saw people parking in the lot to go eat at the restaurants instead of shopping at the Whole Foods, I dont think its going to get any better. That they have a police officer hanging out in the store to watch over things doesnt raise my confidence either. The store in Plano and the one off Preston and Forest in Dallas might be a longer drive, but theyre both considerably larger, better inventory, more helpful staff, and you can find a parking spot without wondering if someones going to run over you with their Mercedes. Heck, even the itty bitty store off Coit is better.

High class organic food lovers paradise. Everything here is about twice the price you would pay across the street at Walmart or about a third more than your standard grocer like Kroger or Tom Thumb. There is an amazingly wide selection of fresh produce, beer and wines, coffee and things of that nature. Aisle after aisle of vegan, gluten free, all natural and whole grain organic everything. The clientele is artistic types, hipsters, housewives, young professionals, well to do families, and personal assistants doing their bosses grocery shopping for the week. They have an amazing café serving great coffee, bread and soups. Be prepared for sticker shock if youre not a regular shopper here. The prices do keep the store well stocked with premium quality items, and also keeps the clientele standards high and the riff raff out. If you can afford it, stop in with your health conscious grocery list and give it a try. Some things are worth paying more for.

I stopped by to buy vegetables. I was picking out avocados when I noticed that there was a white powder over all of them. I asked them to contact the manager over veggies. Im 52 yoa. He was talking to me like I was an idiot. I wasnt trying to get free veggies. I thought he might like to know there was a problem. He explained to me that the white stuff was dirt.."you know, theyre grown on the ground." Ha! I gave him the news about avocado trees. Then, I asked to speak with the general manager. I was at the check-out counter by then. As soon as I told him about the white stuff, he immediately denied the existence of the white, powdery stuff. Never in his life had he ever seen such a thing. So I walked him over there. Each avocado had the stuff on it. Thats what I get for trying to help these people out. Snobs and idiots. The women at the register and at customer service were extremely nice, however.

Spirit of 76 is a good, extremely laid-back bar in the Whole Foods in central Addison. Their selection is not incredibly wide, but you can also buy whatever in the store and have it there at the bar. I have not tried this, but Ive seen people come up to the bar to have something opened that they got from in the store, so I am guessing that it is a normal thing. The beers they usually do have on tap are generally really good craft, and you should not have any problem finding something that you like, or somethings. Their growler fill prices are not great, but theyre still okay; but I really recommend their beer flights.

Whole Food has this comforting feeling when you shop there until you check out..then it is What Da???...really, $4 for an avocado? Because it was grown where...Chile? Couldnt you just run over to Sprouts and pick up a case and up charge them to $2? Whole Food is really pushing to with the pricing of groceries. Sure they have a lot of stuff you cant get anywhere else, but really, is it worth it? Lets get real Whole Food before Central Market pushes you out.

You want to avoid this store at all costs. They talk a good game about customer service, but they will ignore you and discount anything you say. The hot bar is awful, poorly cooked and tasteless. The management needs to be replaced. I have heard this complaint from many former customers. Other stores in the area offer the same selection of organic foods for a fraction of the cost. Since I have avoided Whole Foods I have cut my grocery bill by a third.

Dont go to this Whole Foods. The service is terrible and the staff is mostly unfriendly toward you. They are constantly out of food/items by 6 pm. Today was the last straw. We were in line to get a sandwich (no one else around) and it took forever to be akknowledged. Once we were, one sandwich was made and then the employee simply walked away! We needed another sandwich. After another 10 minutes without help we just left.
