Annie is the most talented artist I have ever worked with. She can create a design based on what you have in your head, but make it so much better it hardly seems like you could ever have thought of it yourself. Its like your vision, squared. I have one piece from her that is so beautiful, it doesnt even look real. Everything from realistic portraiture (the reason I went to her in the first place, for my dog portraits) to surreal imagery, Annie is a true talent. She is also a delightful person, and the new shop, Golden Age, is gorgeous. For you wimps out there, she also has the lightest touch ever. I have 3.5 pieces from Annie (one was started by another artist, and she was amazing gracious enough to finish it for me when he moved away), and am already prepping for my next one - a big step - my first full sleeve! I know she will help be realize my vision in a way that will be perfect and gorgeous. I cant recommend Annie and Golden Age highly enough.

Annie Mess is one of the most professional tattoo artists ive had the pleasure of working with. Her tattoo artistry is amazing and her line work is some of the best. I work overseas but own a home in the Austin area. It took me 5 months to find a tattoo artist in the Central Texas area with her skill, respectfulness and professionalism. Many other artists in the area had canceled on me, could be creative enough to understand what i was looking for or just never responded to my emails once they found out i was overseas and they actually had to sit down a design something unique from just emailing back and fourth. I am half way done with my chest/back/half sleeve and cant wait to get back to Austin to see the final result. I would recommend Annie Messs to any body looking for a amazing tattooing experience.

Where do I even begin?? Golden Age Tattoo is...hands down...the best shop in Austin. I find myself just wanting to hang out there on the weekends. Annie Mess is an incredibly talented artist. She ALWAYS goes above and beyond my expectations. Her ideas are killer and her execution is stunning. She tattoos so fast it blows my mind. It seems like she has just started and then all of a sudden she is done, which makes me slightly sad because she is so fun to talk to, and shes not half bad to look at either. ;-) Ahem...any who, if youre on the search for a phenomenal tattoo, look no further than Golden Age...you WONT be disappointed!

Golden Age is the only shop I want to give my money to. Annie has given me two tattoos that are fairly large pieces and I could not be happier with them. Even though I prefer Annies style, every artist in this shop is amazing. While I was having my last tattoo done, I was able to see some of the other artists work, and damn, they are all great at what they do. This shop is ultra clean, and everyone is super friendly. Again, I highly recommend this place and its artists.

I am particular impressed with Caras work. She is the only one that I have had work done by but that doesnt limit the rest of the shops abilities and talents. The shop is small but immaculate. Cara took care in be precise. She wanted to make sure I liked the sketch, the stencil, the placement, the size, and color scheme. She was thorough in her work and I love everything about it. She will do my next piece.

Shop is really neat, staff is friendly and chill. Annie did an AMAZING job on my tattoo, it turned out wonderful. She was also super nice and gave me a discount because I had an appointment at 1 pm but another customer came in and my appointment got pushed back. Fair pricing, beautiful art work, would definitely come back here for another tattoo.

I had work done by Jordan Mitchell at Golden Age and it was very rewarding from the early planning to the final appointment. Jordan listened to imprecise descriptions of what I wanted, and came up with designs that were everything Id hoped for based on what Id seen of his past work.
