I recently visited a location close to my home in Oak Ridge, TN and was severely disappointed by your customer service and the representatives that are the supposed face of the company. I called regarding a book and was quoted the title price of 10.99. Understandable. I told them I would consider it and get back with them. The phone call was pleasant enough, albeit the wait time. And having been hung up on once, forcing me to recall the store, which had a prompt response. I decided to look online and saw the advertised pricing of the book was 8.55. I was overjoyed, if only for a moment. I decided to make a trip to my local store and see if they would honor the advertised price as the online pricing does not state that it was/is an online price. Even offering me the option to check if my local store has it. I made my way down the road. I entered the doors, which were not all that welcoming, and immediately saw exactly what I was looking for. I grabbed the book and continued to browse for a moment allowing checkouts to clear and allowing me a moment to speak with a representative without holding up the line. I was called to the register, "I can help whoever is next!" I approached the counter book in hand. There she stood. A frumpy, 5 2" woman. Blond as the sun is bright and fat as the Earth is wide. I addressed my concern to her. Speaking properly and to the point, I was determined to walk out with my book and be a happy customer. Apparently, this associate had other plans. Rather than attempt to help or assist me, she proceeded to berate me. "The difference between buying it online and buying it here is, online you dont have me." She spoke with a voice only dogs could here. I requested to speak with a manager. With a grimace and smirk, not a smile, I was told sure. Enter the manager, a tall bearded man, in a "one size too small" purple Polo. I repeated my issue and concern with him and was told that "shipping pays the difference." I was disgusted and appalled. I promptly left, NEVER to return. This is a VERY poor example of how to treat customers and any experience should be at any retail location. I dont often shop for books, but I will NEVER shop and this location again if this is how customers are treated. Good day. I understand its only a 2.00 difference, but thats a coffee I can buy to enjoy with my book.

I ordered 3 books last month and was told they would be in around 11/26. One book made it around that date, I picked up the second one today, but the other one is still not in. I discovered that the one I picked up today had sticky stuff all over the back of it, not good since its a Christmas present. The first one I picked up had been put on the shelf, with an order sticker on the back of it that had my name and phone number printed on it. Needless to say, after I get my final book, hopefully before Christmas, I will not be going back to that store.

Its a really nice store in Oak Ridge with so much to look and see. My only major gripe is the sales lady asked if I wanted a membership as if it was free to join and come to find out it was an additional $25 added to my charge. She didnt even explain that up front. Tell people the membership will cost $25 without being sneaky about it. Magazine stores are getting desperate these days because they know they will be out of business soon. Sorry Books a Million but your days are numbered.

Nice enough selection, of you want to try to find a book. Can rarely find what I want, or the book is way over priced. Once in the dozen times have I been approached by a sales consultant, but they were stocking shelves and very courteous to me. One good thing is you can pick-up one or two year old published hardback books for a really low cost.

I love the large variety of books they offer. Im not usually a big box store fan. After the local used book store moved out of town I visited several big book stores and finally found this location. Been a big fan every since. They also carry a good selection of records for us older crowd that long for that one of a kind sound.

Very well organized, and the staff seemed to know what the are doing. Although, there is music playing and time after time one of the staff members would start loudly singing along interrupting me and most likely everyone else

The staff are wonderful here overall, and the selection is great. Prices have a lot of ups and downs, but sales are common. The cafe serves great drinks as well. Its a great, relaxing atmosphere.

Very helpful. Couldnt find the books I wanted. Staff searched and found one, then ordered the other for me. He saw what I was interested in and suggested other books for me too.
