I went to Village Bridal and there was no one in the store, but I heard the owner on the phone in the back so my mother and I started looking through the dresses. She came out & automatically gave us a snobby look. She asked if I had an appointment & I replied no, that we were just in the neighborhood and it was our first day looking for a dress. She asked me what I was looking for and I told her a couple things. She told me to start on the sale wall & look through those dresses. I found one that I kinda liked so I pulled it and handed it to her. I went to the other side and found 2 more that were ok and I also pulled. She had them all hanging up for me to look at and I said "ok Im ready to try on" and she said "well, call me when you want to set up an appointment and know what youre looking for instead of coming in here and not being open minded about anything!" i kept my cool but said "i am open minded, i just dont like anything you liked" and that made her mad with her replying "yeah, see youre not open minded and you need to get a better idea before you start walking into a place to shop! so she wouldnt let me try on any of the dresses and i was ready to buy that day. she acts like she is better than everyone when she really isnt at all. i can honestly say that she is the most cold hearted person ive ever met in my life. with this attitude she will never get service from me OR anyone that i know. She didnt know this at the time, but I am a model that has lots and lots of connections and they will never purchase off her now. She better watch who she treats like that. Hopefully she wont be in business much longer, as she is making all these brides that want to have a wonderful experience with wedding dress shopping, a complete nightmare. Giving 1 star is a compliment because I wish I could give less. The people that left her 5 stars must be her making accounts & trying to cover herself. She is $500 higher than any other place on the same dress. ** Best bridal store is The White Room in Lebanon hands down. Go there ladies.

I found the "one" at Village Bridal, and had a great experience. Margaret, the owner, & Savannah were so sweet, and truly wanted to help me find a fabulous dress. . . and they did! I cant wait to wear it on my wedding day! My groom is going to be giddy! They have since moved and are not in Hillsboro Village anymore, but are actually next to Blue Bird Cafe in Green Hills. The space is nice, and the dresses are kept in bags to keep them clean. All of the dresses I tried on there looked brand new. Nothing ragged, no weird dirt colors on the bottom or on the train, or makeup (like I had seen at some other places. . . eck!) all over the dress. They had a unique selection to choose from as well . . . not to mention a great price point. They had a dress in every silhouette, and many of them had great details (from feathers, beading, brooches, sashes, sleeves etc.) They had a great mix of European designed styles (which I personally gravitated towards and ended up purchasing the Pronovias Adela) and American designed styles. The diversity in their selection was awesome . . . I think! Just to give some examples: There were full lace dresses in there for $2,000 (which I hadnt seen, the cheapest Id found in town was $5,000, and they werent great). They also had samples towards the back for sale that looked brand new, and were priced so reasonably my jaw dropped to the floor (think &1,000 for a beautiful full lace dress with a train, a beautiful ball gown dress for $1,500 etc.) I would definitely recommend stopping here after shopping around . . . it will make you appreciate the quality, design, and price of their dresses when you look around and can compare. And they are truly as sweet as they can be! I would recommend making an appointment, they are great about walk-ins. . . but it makes it much more special to have a set time. I went in on a late Sunday afternoon, and my mom and I had the whole place to ourselves, which was a lot of fun! And good luck to anyone who is dress shopping!

I wholeheartedly recommend Village Bridal to any bride-to-be looking for the perfect dress. I am a Nashville native (born and raised), so I knew about all of the spots to search for dresses in the area. I honestly did not think Id end up purchasing my dress from Village, but Im so glad that I happened to take a look around their store. I found a dress and veil that I fell in love with, and although I did not purchase them on my first visit, the owner did not pressure me into making a quick decision. Once I did purchase the dress and veil, I was contacted the very day it arrived (it takes several months, between production and shipping), and I was able to make an appointment for my first fitting almost immediately. Julia, who handles the alterations for Village Bridal, was wonderful and very patient with me. My dress (mermaid-style) had to be altered considerably in order to fit perfectly, and while Ill admit that I was nervous about having to cut the lace in order to shorten the dress, by the time I viewed the finished product, you could not tell that it had been touched. I was overwhelmingly pleased with how my dress turned out, and I cannot give enough thanks to the entire staff at Village. It was truly a wonderful experience. My advice to other brides is to take your time selecting a dress, and once you do, be patient through the alterations phase. I had 3 or 4 different fittings, but in the end, the time we spent was well worth it...my dress was perfect!

I initially had a great experience buying my dress at Village Bridal. I was in love with my dress and the owner was so nice! That all changed when the dress came in an alterations began. The dress was way too short for my torso and my breasts would come up out of my dress every time I raised my arms. They never measured my torso when purchasing the dress, and turns out I either needed a different size or a different dress entirely as this DID NOT FIT my body type. The seamstress was pushy and not helpful. She did not have any suggestions as to how to fix the dress other than just not to raise my arms all night. SEVERAL alterations appointments later and 1 week before my wedding I decided to take my dress to another seamstress and pay a rush order (as much as the original dress cost) to get my dress fixed! The seamstress at Village Bridal had done alterations incorrectly as well- I had already paid her to take the dress in, but the new seamstress had to take the dress in an additional inch and a half!!!!!! She also had to further hem the dress which I had already paid the Village Bridal seamstress to do. Those are pretty basic alterations if you ask me. Do not trust the seamstress at Village Bridal!!!! Ended up costing me a lot of stress, time, and money!
