Tatyana Merryman is sheer genious when it comes to dress alterations. If you are looking for someone to alter your dress, PLEASE GO SEE TATYANA MERRYMAN!! She is the sweetest person and will keep you laughing the whole time that you are there. If I was to tell anyone to put full faith in a person for dress alterations, it would be her. You will not be disappointed. She will tell you exactly what needs to be done, work with you on a budget, and let you decided if you like the changes or want additional changes. I had bought a wedding dress that I really liked. However, it was too big, too long, and the top was a halter (I dont care for halters on myself). Basically, I got this dress, because I was in LOVE with the skirt of the dress. However, Tatyana totally transformed my dress into a one of a kind. I could not ask for anything better. First, she changed the halter top into straps for me. Then, she removed some extra lace that was already on the dress and made it match the detailing on the rest of the dress. I still to this day have no idea where she removed the lace from my dress. After the straps, she tore apart the whole top and hand restiched every bead and peice of lace. She put in countless hours on my dress, and it showed. After she made the alterations, I came in for my fitting. I got it on and fell in love with it. However, she pointed out that some boning to the dress was sticking out just a small bit ( I never would have noticed ). She thought it could look better, and redone the dress a second time. Also, she pointed out that the veil I has purchased was on a plastic comb, and that it was not staying in my hair properly. She took the veil apart and reset it on a metal comb to help it stay secure in my hair. Anything that I wanted she done. Anything that needed to be done that I didnt think of, she mentioned and done for me. She made my dress absolutely perfect. Also, she understands that budget is very important. Before we made any alterations, she showed me what all would need to be done to the dress, the cost, and what she would suggest altering first. She gave me different cost options to as many alterations as possible to help save me the most money. I really felt that she cared and understood. She wanted the best alterations for the price that I had. Go see Tatyana!! You will not regret it! She does wedding dress alterations, bridesmaids alterations, and prom dress alterations. Also, she does custom make dresses for your own personal occasion.

My custom made couture wedding dress from Fashion Atelier is so beautiful and exactly what I wanted, even better! Tatyana is an incredible fashion designer with impeccable taste and knowledge of all things fashionable. When I was in her studio for my first fitting and saw how she draped a pattern of my dress around my body, I realized I was witnessing an artist at work. I am so happy that I trusted Tatyana to make my wedding gown, headpiece and veil and I know I will be back to order a party dress in the near future. Once you experience a process of professionally made dress, it is hard to go back to buying dresses off the rack that hardly ever fit and flatter. I know now that I would rather pay more and have one great dress in my closet that I love and want to wear more than just once, than buy three cheap dresses that look ordinary and uninspiring to wear again. Maybe this is why people like vintage gowns: they were made to last and bring joy to the wearer for many years. By the way, Tatyana can make a reproduction of any vintage gown since she can make her own patterns. Her prices are very reasonable for a custom made dress, which takes more time to make than mass produced dress somewhere overseas by cheap labor. Before I met Tatyana I did get a quote from another designer in Nashville and was quoted over $800 more than what I paid at Fashion Atelier. And I believe I got a better dress here than I would have gotten at another place in Nashville. It is such a treat to work with Tatyana and I highly recommend her business to anybody! I think she can do just about anything when it comes to designing and sewing :) So happy!!!

I will never trust anyone other that Tatyana with one of my garments! I will be a lifelong customer of her amazing services. A few years back I had taken my mothers wedding gown to be reconstructed into a cocktail dress for me to wear to my intimate wedding. I took the dress to another locally owned shop and could not have imagined the results to be as disastrous as they were. When I picked up the garment, not only was the fit horrendous, but there were orange and black threads hanging off of the poorly sewn seams. Needless to say I was devastated that I had let this shop destroy my mothers wedding gown. Thats when I reached out to Tatyana at Fashion Atelier in a panic. Tatyana managed to completely correct the issues with my dress, but she also corrected the issues with my daughters flower girl dress as well as my son and husbands vests. My wedding was on new years eve, and Tatyana took time during the holiday season to make corrections to all of these garments in less than a week! She stayed calm and turned a very difficult situation completely around. She is dedicated to her work and has a special attention to detail. Since this, over the past 5 years I have taken numerous garments to Tatyana and always walk away as an extremely satisfied customer.

I could not imagine a better experience or a more beautiful dress for my wedding!! I have not lived in Murfreesboro very long and do not have any family here. When I heard about Tatyana from someone I met, I decided to make an appointment. She was so professional and sweet at the same time, which is not easy to find. She was very honest about pricing and fabric choices.I also was given several itemized receipts so I knew exactly where my money was going. She always returned my calls and emails promptly. She made it all SO easy on me. As I mentioned, I do not have family here but Tatyana made me feel like I did. She was so sweet to me during all my visits and fittings. I cannot wait to wear the most spectacular dress at my wedding next week. Tatyana is a wonderful woman who is great at what she does, I will be a lifelong customer :)

Before meeting with Tatyana, I emailed her with my budget and what I wanted my dress to look like. She insisted that she could make the dress and stay within my budget. I set up an appointment to meet with her, driving two hours away for the meeting. Upon arriving, we discussed my dress even more and she still insisted she could stay within my budget. The next day I received her email with the quote for my dress and it was $600 over what I told her my budget was!!! Everything would have been fine if she would have just told me she couldnt make the dress for my budget! Instead, I drove two hours and was mislead throughout the entire appointment.
