I have NEVER written anything bad about anywhere, but I had to voice my opinion this time. We are used to shopping and dining at Whole Foods in Nashville, but decided to try Earth Fare because we recently moved to the Knoxville area. The grocery part was nice, but we ordered food to eat while we were there. They did not have pizza, which is what my kids wanted, so we ordered sandwiches. It took forever for our food to be prepared, and when we finally received it, it did not taste good. In fact, I was able to shop the entire beauty section with four children while waiting for our sandwiches to be made. Not only that, but it was expensive. Our meal with four children was $65. I wouldnt complain, but it just didnt taste good at all. And it was sandwiches!!! Had to throw most of the kids food away. The indoor eating area was not clean either. When we were ready to leave, I had to take my daughter to the restroom. I wished I hadnt. It was filthy!!!! I have never been in a public restroom that smelled so bad. My family will not be returning. We will wait until they open a Whole Foods in Knoxville in 2013.

Its not at all, chock full of snotty farragut residents.. In fact you see a great deal of hippies in there, toting around their hemp reusable bags. I love buying my produce from there, it always tastes better than Krogers and definitely Wal-Marts (which goes bad the next day). They do have a huge selection, in which I shop everything else but some stuff I wont buy organic because its just way too expensive. If you look a bit closely there are some sales sometimes. Their deli/bakery/luncheon part has some great cookies and some of the tofu dip is pretty good. Overall, I love to shop here, just wish being green wasnt so pricey.

I really love the actual store...some of it is overpriced for sure. But most of the employees are not nice or friendly. I have to stand at the deli counter forever before someone will even acknowledge me. Then, when they do, they act as if you are bothering them. ESPECIALLY the older gentlemen at the Bearden location. geez. The staff actually look depressed. Supposedly Whole Foods will be opening up soon- I used to shop there in Lexington, KY when we lived there. Much nicer staff and better bakery. Hopefully it will be the same here. But I will say that the coupon texts and daily specials here are really great.

Nearly everything is unreasonably overpriced. While they have much larger variety than most, the same items available at TJs or others are significantly less... Obviously playing the "we can charge more since we are located in an up class area" game. Want to scream in the store at how arrogantly the prices are set, $11 for an empty gallon glass jug when glass gallon of apple juice is $7. How the hell is it more $ for an empty container... if they didnt have such great variety in the vitamins section(which is also outragously priced but can be expected) I would have given it a 2*

It is a great supplement to your grocery shopping. Tons of good meats, cheeses and spreads there. Bread too. However, they just dont have the basics. Namely Mayfields Milk. If they had Mayfields, Id never have to cross the street again. Sadly, thats just not the case.

Lots of organic and healthy food options available. I like to buy the loose spices to fill up current containers as theyre usually cheaper to buy that way and the quality seems high. Their kitchen makes tasty fresh food.

Clean place, food is usually good and fresh. Have found a couple rotten, moldy garlic before. Salad bar is great, pizza are amazing and cheap. Meat department is good, sometimes not the best and quite expensive.
