As Darnell stated, not a flagship store and too small. No cosmetics counter or good travel section. Never see but 1-3 salespeople who act as if theyre not their when they see certain individuals. Quite a non-plus shopping experience but sometimes can catch a good deal on winter coats. In addition, only 1 store to service entire region of Kingsport/Colonial Heights, and Lynn Garden (TENN); and Weber City/Gate City/Duffield/Big Stone Gap, Ft. Blackmore, Clinch River area (VIRGINIA) and all other nearby towns which is a vast area with PLENTY of land available to build another in Virginia. Next best location is about 30-45 min. northwest of Kingsport in larger town of Johnson City, TN which is even more urban area. But VA is hard core in remaining WAY TOO PURITANNICAL in their mentality as if this is the 1800s. Seriously!

I love JC Penny in general. I appreciated their lack of coupons for a while that brought their prices way down but apparently most people werent fond of the idea and it went back to how it was. Still, with a coupon they have some great deals and I raid their clearance sections often.
