May 19th 2017 I went to Walmart in Ashland City (Store # 01226), in order to buy cell phones for my family. I purchased two Samsung phones at a discounted price of $199.99. I then attempted to buy two more iPhone at full price (no sale or discounts). I spoke to three employees. First is the Verizon Representative for this store at Ashland city, the second was Kayla a general employee, and the store manager Chad Phillips. I asked the Verizon Rep, how many Samsung phones do you have in stock? She believed two and then confirmed I was purchasing the last two. Kayla received a phone call about the Samsung phones and the customer asked if they had any in stock. Kayla went to ask and came back and said “no we are sold out”. I informed her that a nearby Walmart had the Samsung phones in stock (I checked due to needing 2 more phones). I also met them at the other Walmart. I purchased my two Samsung phones and needed at least two more phones for my kids. However, the Verizon Representative said she can only sell me two phones, according to Chad Phillips (store Manager). I asked to speak with him. During my wait time for Chad Philips, I got to talking with the Verizon Rep. She let it slip they had at least 4 more phones in stock and sellable condition. I then explained the store had a call and Kayla stated there are no Samsung phones in stock. I asked “why lie?” She said it came from management. Chad Philips came and talked to me in the cell phone section in the store. We were right in front of the cash register. In front of his two employees and multiple customers watching us discuss the cell phone situation. I asked “why can’t I purchase more than two phones?” His exact answer was “Policy and procedure”. I asked “is it Walmart Corporate policy and procedure?” Chad Philips: Yes Me: Can I see this policy? Chad Philips: No Me: Can you call your Market Manager (District Manager)? Chad Philips: No Me: Have you seen this policy and procedure? Chad Philips: Yes, based on my 20+ years of experience of training… Blah…. Mr. Philips, you tried to back up your answer based on your experience. However, I know Walmart’s policy on cell phone purchases. I had to ask YOU to walk away from the cash register so customers could check out and purchase items and so your employees didn’t have to hear me correct you. For some reason you started smiling. I was doing this out of courtesy for you, I do not have to work in that store every day. Walmart doesn’t have a corporate policy like you stated limiting cell phone purchases. Walmart does have a policy that limits 2 pre-paid cell phones. Not regular cell phones from Verizon or AT&T. I told you what the policy was and said I have seen it in person. I then asked Me: Can I buy two more phones (iPhones) Chad Philips: No Me: Why? Chad Philips: I told you policy and procedure Me: Can you confirm it for me? Chad Philips: No, I’m not selling you anymore cell phones. So based on my conversation with you, your experience is lacking. You do not understand customer experience, customer service, honesty & integrity, or Walmart’s Corporate policies. You had your employees lie to me and at least one other customer about what was in stock (Honesty & Integrity). You didn’t want to call your boss to confirm the information (policies), I had to pull YOU away from the register to protect your image (customer experience and service). This will be share on Facebook, Google reviews, Walmart corp email, yelp, and any other review sites. Good day Chad Philips

*Personal review as a customer: Better than MOST of the Wal-Marts Ive ever been to (and I came up here from the Chattanooga/N. Georgia area, so theres probably close to 100 down that way). Rarely over-crowded, friendly associates, not an overly huge selection or anything but lets think real here: its Ashland City. *Personal opinion from the OTHER side of the fence: Anyone complaining about the employees there, youve most likely had a bad experience with A COUPLE of the associates and are now lopping them all together. SOME of them actually do care and take time and try their best to make sure YOU leave satisfied... Like me, for example, or the other 10-15 people I can name straight off the top of my head, who I know for a fact bust their butts for customers ALL DAY EVERY DAY. How do I know this? I work there. Im in there for most of the day 5+ days a week and I see what you all dont. No, we are not perfect by any means, and Im sure that not every single person in there couldnt stand to improve, but for the most part, we work hard and we TRY. Im sorry if anyone reading this has had a bad experience, but I think going to the extreme of "they should shut down so all the stupid employees lose their jobs" is a *liiiittle* much... A lot of us are young, single parents, and we most certainly DO NOT deserve to lose our jobs, and we definitely arent stupid either. The Wal-Mart stereotype you are placing on the ENTIRE staff, however, is. Personally I see that as pure ignorance, and I believe that before you start throwing out your obnoxiously ignorant opinions and name-calling, you should stop and think about what youre saying, who EXACTLY it actually applies to, and how youre making yourself sound. I guarantee that if you had to do what we do and deal with what we deal with for 8+ hours every single day, you wouldnt even last a week, but you sure would understand the things we go through on a daily basis and might end up changing your tune a little. None of this was meant to come off as rude, but not many people understand that when theyre saying and posting these (hateful) things on public forums, they really have no idea what theyre talking about, and we have to put up with waaaay more than you ever will while in that store, and we dont get to just go home afterwards. We have to stay and do it all again 10 more times that day. And the next. And the next.

My boyfriend and I called this Ashland City wal-mart from another wal-mart on Charlotte pike to see if they had a specific computer we were looking for. We spoke with the manager who informed us that she had an empty box but no computer in it so she was going to check in the back to see if she could find any. We were trying to make sure that they were going to have it before we took the long drive. She assured us that the computer said the store had 3 laptops showing up for that location. So we drove there and went to the electronics department and were told THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY! so we spent about an hour and a half of drive time, gas money/ dealing with the manager in wal-mart. They had horrible service, and were very unapologetic, rude, and inconsiderate. We were lied to, probably due to their laziness of not really looking to see if they had the computer. We even asked them to double check because we were making a long drive if they did have it and they still couldnt have cared less. I will never shop there for anything, nor would I advise anyone who enjoys CUSTOMER SERVICE to shop there either. If they run out of business maybe they will close and the stupid people who work there will be out a job.
