While passing through the area, I saw numerous billboards on the interstate advertising this store, so I decided to stop in and have a look-see. I had about 3 hours left to drive, and I figured that I needed a break. The store is nice and packed full of merchandise. It was packed with customers as well, so there was a wait to be served. Thats understandable, they were quick to get to me, considering the circumstances. The staff was friendly to me and very helpful. So, I purchased a firearm that I took a liking to on a whim. Bad move on my part. Then, I hopped in my car, continued my journey home, and went and checked out more information on what I had purchased. Normally, I go and research what I want and then purchase it, armed with a price and what to look for, ready to pay a premium for the owners time. Not in this case. Impulse buying without doing research ahead of time is like wandering into the lions den. I paid 27 percent more for the firearm than I could have online (and the online merchant includes shipping in that price). Now I expect to pay more from a gun store, because having a staff to take the time to answer questions isnt free. Having a place where people can handle firearms and get a feel for what they like isnt free. I also understand that people these days often go to their local gun store, mess around with the goods, spend the owners time, and then go online and pay less. Thats not fair to the hard-working owners of your local gun store, and thats why I look online as a reference, but more often than not, purchase from those who will give me the time to work with me, if they have what I want in stock. One pays a premium for a local dealers time, effort, and knowledge, but 30 daggum percent more? Okay, so I called up one of the local gun stores where I live, and asked them what theyd sell me the model for. I figured that maybe the firearm was hard to get, or something like that... They actually beat Nichols price by a long shot- with a free box of ammo. "You want it? Well hold it for you", the clerk said. I mentioned that my backside was sore, explained why it was not from my long drive home, and that I spent my fun money for the month... He laughed and said, "Theyre still selling at panic prices, bud!". Did I mention the numerous billboards that I saw? Numerous. They were very helpful to me, willing to take 10 minute or so to show me a few things in a store packed full of customers, and seemed to know what they were talking about, but be warned: I dont know what their markup is at Nichols store for every item, Im sure that it varies, but be prepared ahead of time, and know the market, or youll be paying for all of those billboards by yourself.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, however I will not be going back to purchase my next firearm because the prices online do not match the in-store price. Looked at the nichols online store and found the gun I wanted listed for $349.99 so I decide to make the trip to buy but to my surprise the gun in the store was $449.99... so common these days, you get suckered in to believe something thats not true. Even the guy selling me the firearm says people come in all the time saying the same thing.. I looked on academys website and seen the same gun for $379.99 I am very dissapointed I didnt buy from there to start with. When I found out that there prices were different the man behind the counter told me sure you can order it online but by the time it gets here and I pay for shipping and what ever other charge he said I cant remember..he said it would be around the same price so it would be lIke paying the same but having to wait for shipping.. I do understand the difference between brick and mortar stores vs large chains but its wrong to have 2 different prices and not at least tell your customers

I will never go there again. My first experience was great. Took my wife to get her first gun. Guy behind the counter was great. Spent about two hours and showed her probably 40 guns. She finally found one she liked. We put it on layaway. Paid it off and took it home. All good. The next time we put a gun on layaway wasnt so great. We had some money problems happen, and had to take the gun off layaway. Now Im not disputing thier "restocking fee. We had $102.37 exactly coming back after all the numbers were crunched. Thats where the problem started. When took it off layaway they looked up the ticked, the manager initialed it and said "Okay its done" in a condescending tone, and turned to walk away WITHOUT giving us our money back. We had to literally stop him and say hey, what about our money? To which he just looked down on us and said "What about it?". Really?!!! After we finally got him to listen to us, he says "Well you basically get back a hundred bucks...", opens the registre and throws $100 down on the counter and walks away. I will never go in there again.

What a disappointing experience. Im acutely in the parking lot writing this review. I came in to see what I could get trade value wise for my Riger SR9c DLC (talo edition). Came in and the guy behind the counter asked how much I wanted for it. I told him I was hoping to trade it for a Glock 43. He literally laughed at me and said that they sell for $499 (ridiculous price). I said I knew that, but I was trading in. $600 gun that you literally cannot find for sale now. He said hed check. While he was in the back room "checking" multiple employees went back there with him and came out laughing. Im assuming because of how "ridiculous" my claim must be. He came out and said.. "When we had these we sold them for $300." $300?!?!? You cant get a regular SR9c for less than $400. Clearly an attempt to rip people off. I will obviously not be returning and will make sure I tell people about my experience. You should be ashamed of yourselves and to everyone reading this review, do your research before you buy, sell or trade to this criminal operation.

If I could give this place a zero stars I would. My fiance had special ordered me a pair of Costa sunglasses for my birthday and paid in full for them and the lady said they would be in within a week and they would call when they came in. 3 weeks went by and my birthday and still no glasses. When I called the lady couldnt find my order and said they would be in by the end of the week that there was a delay in shipping. At this point I was very disappointed not only did I get lied to but the fact they wont here on my birthday. So I said just forget it I will be in to get my money back and all the lady could do was apologize then offer me a 10 percent discount for any pair in the display case that dozens of other people have touched, scratched and tried on. No thanks that was the whole point of ordering a customize pair just for me. Needless to say I didnt say a word and didnt have to they know they just lost a repeat customer.
