My wife and I used to go in for coffee and reading once a week. We have had one of their rewards cards for at least the last 10 years (these arent the free ones like you get in grocery stores). About a year ago (maybe a little more, maybe a little less) I believe there was a management change and, since then, most of the employees arent super-friendly, this applies especially to the baristas. It got so bad that my wife was denied coffee because there wasnt any brewed and they were closing in an hour and a half... We have only been a handful of times since then.

My husband and I used to be regulars, but the current staff is super unfriendly, and their customer service is awful. Ive actually heard the staff whispering about me because I dared to order a coffee an hour and a half before they closed. Talk about poor customer service. Ive purchased one of their club cards every year since 2003, my husband and I went in at least once a week and order coffee. We regularly purchased books and magazines. I hope losing our business was worth saving that pot of coffee.

Allyson (the tall red head) is the epitome of customer service. I wanted an older novel they didnt carry, and she had an employee call a used book store in town to try and track it down and gave me some internet leads. I will always buy my reading from the Rock Hill Store thanks to her dedication to service and willingness to go the extra mile and more to ensure her clients can find what they want to read.. This review is going to be biased, because I simply LOVE Books-A-Million. I am a sucker for a bookstore, and this one is very pleasant to shop in. It is always organized, well-stocked, and the staff are very helpful. I always have a pleasant book-buying experience when I shop here.
