I was attending a training seminar in town, and did a quick search for coffee places the morning of my first day of training. Sojourn looked like the best option, so I headed in that direction. I pulled into the parking lot, and saw that they didnt open for another 20 minutes. Disappointed, I started to back out and head for the nearest convenience store swill, but a gentleman emerged from the shop to tell me that he thought they had some coffee brewed if I wanted it. Turns out it wasnt quite ready, but he was able to make me a latte (which is what I actually wanted). The latte and the oatmeal raisin cookie I also bought were absolutely fantastic, but his willingness to pull me in and serve me puts this shop over the top in my eyes. That is fantastic customer service, as far as Im concerned. The decor and ambiance of the shop reminded me of coffee shops I used to frequent in Portland, OR. I wish we had a place like this in my hometown in Florida. Thanks for being awesome!!

The first time I went, I bought a cappuccino. It was very bitter and worse than Starbucks. I decided to give them another shot (since they are convenient to me), and I ordered the cap again. It was, once again, way too bitter and almost no milk added. He (a different barista) took a bit of extra time to foam more milk to put on top, but the milk was very sour, and the amount and density of foam was WAY too much. The foam had the consistency of heavy cream, it was so dense. Its very obvious that the staff has not been trained in how to make proper espresso drinks. Looks like Ill be sticking with Muddy Waters from now on (and in a bind, Starbucks)...

Very relaxed and friendly environment. Coffee is delicious and they are willing to personalize your order any way they are able to. I also love that coffee is served in coffee mugs, just adds to the comfortable setting. The soups are out of this world and the baked goods are beyond delicious! The owners are very friendly and know many of their regulars by name. Definitely one of my favorite lunch break spots! And I love supporting local businesses and seeing them succeed!

The main reason I enjoy going to Starbucks is the atmosphere. If you want a nice place to meet or study, come here, not the corporate Starbucks. There are paintings and decorations galore in a quaint and adorable way. Theres plenty of different seating including several tables, an armchair, and a couch. I could not be more impressed with the at home feel while still remaining business-like. I could not recommend it more.

Small local coffee shop, with comfy couches and wicker chairs to sit at. Has a relaxed atmosphere with people chatting over drinks served in mugs like youd find at home. Havent tried the food yet, but the lattes have been delicious so far. Its run by a friendly older couple (i think) who are quick and happy to suggest drinks. Its my favorite place to get coffee when Im in West Ashley.

I frequent Sojourn 3 or 4 times a week. Carmen and Walter, the owners, are wonderful people and offer a great selection of coffee, pastries and food. The other patrons are great and there always seems to be a lively discussion going on. They have outlasted other coffee shops in West Ashley and it is easy to understand why.

Walter and Carmen are wonderful! The food is wonderful - you have to try the chicken salad for lunch. I love that I walk in and they know my name, though I only get in there about once a month. This is how customer service should be.

I stop by nearly every day. The coffee, lattes, and cappuccinos are excellent. The breakfast sandwich is delicious. Walter and Carmen are salt-of-the-earth people. My wife and I are happy they opened in the neighborhood.

Very comfortable and the food! Someones grandma is back there cooking up a storm with that cornbread and soup! And the Lorraine quiche is exquisite. Will definitely be back again to work or curl up with a book.
