I rated this place a 1 star, because the employee was so rude to my boyfriend I considered leaving (or tossing my coffee at him). My boyfriend simply asked, what is being brewed? pointing to theyre giant coffee selection. The male employee replies, really? Its right there (he says this as if were idiots)! Pretty obvious really. My boyfriend, embarrassed, gave a meek thanks while another employee looks shocked at the rudeness of her coworker and smiles at us sympathetically. Bad service really makes the coffee taste more bitter.

Its okay-- Id buy beans from here (its nice you can buy in increments of a quarter pound) but the barista skills dont stack up to the other, phenomenal coffee shops in Pittsburgh. When I stopped in here there was a really nice barista behind bar, alone, who had only been working for about a month and wasnt weighing his dose (which is an important way to spot errors when youre making espresso). Not his fault, but he really shouldnt have been left alone behind bar with very little training or knowledge of how to make coffee.

One of the more quieter cafes in the Squirrel Hill area. With tons of seating and a wide menu of drink options, its hard to see why. Plus its open three hours later than other local cafes in the area. Which is good news for night owls like me. :)

Consistently good quality frozacinos at this and other locations; a co-worker for whom I get black dark roast coffees says they are always good and never bitter. Service has usually been polite but not overly friendly.

The bosses and owners are rude towards their employees and are racist toward minorities. The likely hood of being offered full time isnt offered and the tips really arent good unless you work mornings.

Superior interior design, mediocre coffee. Tables are always sticky. Staff are, well, .., indifferent!

Good variety of coffee beans. They put the roastingvdate on each so you know they are fresh.

The caramel frozacino is much better than a Starbucks frap.
