There is nothing more pleasing than to visit a hardware store and have someone come over to personally assist with your shopping needs. For the individual below to refer to the well dressed older gentlemen as a dinosaur just speaks to the upbringing and class of person making the accusation. Long and short Durfees is a gem of a store. You feel at home when you walk in and rarely are you dissapointed. They have the most obscure and sometimes rare items that you will not find in a Lowes or Home Depot and your treated like a part of the family instead of an ordinary customer.

I usually go to the big boxes, but I went in because I needed a particular item, and I was already on that street. I was greeted when I walked in, and again by the young woman working the hand tool section upstairs. She spent 10 minutes helping me, and could not have been nicer. Reasonable prices, too (I expected it to be more expensive). They really did provide superior service, and I was in and out in 11 minutes. Quite an impressive store :)

Great service! I didnt have to chase a clerk down just to have them tell me it wasnt their department. They took me right to the section I needed and stayed with me to make sure I got what I needed. A little more expensive than the box stores but worth the convince and service. A rare gem these days.
