Wasnt very impressed, unfortunately. Came all the way over from Lancaster with my wife on a Tuesday for what was advertised as a board game night. We went inside and told the lady we were interested in euro-style board games. She was very disinterested, never bothered to tell us it was board game night (in case we didnt know), and gestured at the single row with board games. I had to specifically ask if there were any demo units, another thing she never volunteered. The demo section was very disappointing. With just a handful of beat up products it was worthless as a method of letting us look at games we were interested in buying. One group of people were at a table playing a game. Compared to other comic stores Ive been to, they were hardly what I would call friendly. Asking how they were doing, what they were playing, and if they enjoyed it barely elicited a handful of grunts. I had one hope remaining, and that was the board game selection itself, where my wife and I were hoping to buy 1 or 2 euro-style board games out of Ora Et Labora, La Havre, Castles of Burgandy, or Twilight Struggle. Unfortunately their selection was abysmal. If you go BoardGameGeek and look at the top 20 titles, youll find maybe 2 of them on their shelves. Maybe this place is good for comics, but I wont be coming back for social gaming.

I brought my family in as we looked for a new comic store. On our ride home we talked about the experience. During our time there no one ever greeted us, the employee we did eventually speak to as we checked out was rushing to get back to his previous conversations. I watched employees swore and dropped f-bombs as I held my 1 1/2 year old, there were other children present in the store and to top that off their layout is cluttered and nearly unbrowseable. We visited three stores in total and this was by far the worst experience Ive ever had at any comic store. *This review was initially posted on Facebook. At that time an employee posted a response that stated I didnt hear anyone swear. Both my girlfriend and I witnessed it. In addition, most the owner responses given here seem to be excuses. You should never publicly admit that sometimes youre too busy to speak with your customers.

I brought in my collection of Magic the Gathering cards to trade in and decided to take the store credit to buy Ticket to Ride: Europe. With my store credit of $40 and a 20% off sale from the shelf that I got the game off of, the $50 game should have only cost me whatever the sales tax would have been. However, the sales woman took off my $40 store credit and charged me $10. When I mentioned the sale sign that was directly in front of the cash register, she gave a disinterested comment and only took 20% off of the $10 remaining on my bill. This mistake may have only cost me ~$8 but complete and utter lack of caring or professionalism has shown me that I should never return to this business and to never positively recommend it to anyone.

I typically avoid this shop unless they have something that may be sold out at another shop. they have a decent selection but the staff has always left a lot to be desired. They typically have always been too preoccupied with what ever they are doing in the shop or the event they have going on to provide any decent customer service and when they do help Ive gotten the impression they really arent interested in helping you. As stated i will usually only go in for something they have that i need and its a go in get it and leave type situation.

Ive been visiting this FLGS ever since we moved to York over 3 years ago. The staff is excellent and have always taken the time/effort to get to know their customers - makes for a great experience. Regular events (TTG, RPG / CCG) provide lots of gaming opportunities, again, building a great sense of community. Selection is solid and no issues w/ ordering something in if it isnt on the shelf. Perhaps best way to sum up is that my girls love coming to the "game store with daddy". A GREAT store!!

I have been bouncing back and forth between Comic Store (Lancaster) and Comic Store West since they were first opened. The people are friendly, they take time with their customers and sometimes that means you need to be patient while they give others the time they deserve. Excellent service, and excellent selection of comics and games. You cant ask for any more than that.

This is the best store for people who do not like magic. The game is definitely a side thought in the business and they do not staff anyone knowledgeable about the game. Aside form that they have a genuine desire to invest in their community and have always treated me with the a professional attitude. they have higher mtg prices but it is worth supporting the store.

The staff are friendly, the shop itself is cozy, and the prices are good. They hold open game nights regularly, and they were very helpful when my girlfriend and I went there. The only thing that irks me is that they dont seem to carry Battletech stuff regularly, although when I went in there they did tell me that they had some recently.

Decent variety of cards, but the owner is incredibly unhelpful and rude. He refused to allow us to look at the card binders, move an empty table that was blocking the card case, and seemed to have very little interest in actually helping the customers. The products and prices are not worth the attitude you get from the employees.

Depends on who is there. Giving an opinion on a customer purchase is never wise when it is unsolicited. They have a fairly decent amount of items. However selling them at rates that are too high. A good place for quick purchase of a board game or a set of die not suggestable for a subscription or fairly price accessory item.

A good comic book shop is hard to find but I found one at Comic Store West! The shop is neat and organized with a diverse stock of games and comic books. Comic Store West supports local libraries and schools. Theres always a game or tournament going on in the gaming room at Comic Store West!

Ive been a fan of comics for over 30 years. I have seen many (MANY) comic book stores come and go. Comic Store West is one of my favorites and, in my opinion, the best Comic Book & Gaming Shop in PA. Visit often. They have a great space, great staff and wonderful events.

Nice selection of game and comic products. Nice selection of Board games, MTG, RPGs, Warhammer, Hero Clix, X-Wing and various supplies. Store looks clean and well lit. Decent sized area for gaming but I never see anyone playing games when I stop in on weekends.

Ive been a customer since the day the store opened. Always the local leader for service and selection on comics and games. Best selection of wargaming materials and models around. Full disclosure, I worked at the store from 1988-1993.

My son loves this place and they offer a really unique service to the community in terms of a safe spot to meet up for games. Great selection across the board and the folks that work there are very friendly.
