The “Good the Bad and The Ugly” is what local residents have come to phrase the Wal-Mart experience situated at the Cedarbrook Plaza Shopping Center. Most of the time the shopping experience becomes overwhelmed by the lack of cashiers to tend to customers’ needs, in addition to associates that are multi-tasking, some who care, and many that do not care, and in retrospect, leave the customer experience a most disappointing visit. Unfortunately, this Class-1 store does not represent the best that Wal-Mart has to offer. Area residents who want to shop at Wal-Mart are often left frustrated when planning a visit, due to the overwhelming fact and the lack of attentive customer service. The sad state of affairs is simple; this Wal-Mart cannot cater to the residents of Mt. Airy, East Oak Lane, and West Oak Lane, and comprising the lower-region of Germantown. Pros: There are many associates who try and work very hard to aid customers when shopping at their Wal-Mart store; I give props to these associates. There are many items that a shopper cannot find at other retail outlets; this is one reason why locals keep shopping at Wal-Mart despite the negatives. Cons: This retail giant fails to realize that these type of Wal-Mart stores cannot support its customers, their needs, and most important of all, to cater to the needs of a busy/multi-ethnic metropolitan city.

Wish there were negative star ratings for this kind of place. The district manager, every in-store manager and supervisor needs to be replaced IMMEDIATELY! This store is a disgrace. I saw the managers glad handing in the front of the store while the store was in shambles and too few checkout agents were being overwhelmed by mobs of customers. This experience happened after I tried to find out where some colorful socks for for my niece could be from an employee that stomped by me stating "Im on BREAK!" and proceeded to pull out her cell phone and start an expletive laden conversation on her way to somewhere. I felt like I was in the movie "Soul Plane" but clearly this was no comedy. Ive been to Walmarts from here to Ann Arbor Michigan, to New York, Miami and California and this is THE ABSOLUTE WORSE Walmart Ive ever had the displeasure of visiting. The saddest part is that there have been multiple similar box stores in this location for decades that have had the same poor service. I have to assume that the same people keep getting rehired at the highest local levels and they keep recycling the poor work ethic, lack of pride and poor self-esteem that continually germinates in the work staffs at this location regardless of the corporate logo out front. PLEASE WALMART NATIONAL HQ READ THIS AND DO SOMETHING.

Process Management is absent. there are ore than enough Registers available to handle the customers. The Process of handling the customers is chaotic. 1. Register overhead lights are not used to identify an open counter. 2. Signs designating process is omitted. 3. Sometimes 2 or more staff is assigned to one check-out count while there are 2 or more vacant counters not being used. 4. Mistakes are made in pricing and not picked up until at the register or after. This sends a large number of customers to the Help Desk. 5. Help Desk is always busy ---------- long line. 6. No Flasing lights at Registers to signal to Manager for help. Appears to be NO WRITTEN information at check-out Counters to void waiting for (must be) overworked Manager(s). Probably no Written protcals for Managers or staff. Heavy reliance on "memorized verbal training" is typically used by top management to be able to over store staff. Staff is poorly informed and put in position that requires information. 95% OF ALL customer service problems is due to POOR to NO PROCESS MANAGEMENT - Not individual staff. From a Certified Process Managements perspective, who shops there occassionally,

Believe me when I say that I am being INCREDIBLY generous in this review; I sometimes feel as though this place would benefit from self-checkout lanes, but it wouldnt shock me at all if this would be the only Walmart in the area where self-checkout would be consistently broken. Luckily Ive never had to use customer service there to return an item, but the electronics section is a complete mess. I NEVER see a cashier in the bike/exercise section where there is a register. The open lanes in the front ALWAYS have long lines, no matter how many registers are open. Anybody whos actually able to get in and out of that Walmart are seemingly a lucky few, or maybe they pay for their items at the pharmacy, but I NEVER look forward to going to this Walmart. The only reason I go is because the prices are still lower than Pathmark and Target for the same items. Could Walmart improve? Of course, but Ive lived in this area all of my life and outside of some aesthetic changes to the store, this Wyncote Walmart has been exactly the same when it comes to service - fair on a good day but in serious need of improvement when it comes to customer service and order.

So sad that you HAVE to pick a star in order to post your comment. I was in the customer service line, if you want to call it customer service, for quite a while. When it was my turn the woman behind the counter said hi how are you. I replied back then realized she was talking to her co-worker. I said "oh sorry you werent talking to me" she gave me a dirty look and said "no, I wasnt." I needed to return make-up which I had opened and realized I bought the wrong shade. I had my receipt. The woman said "we cant take it back because it was opened." You know like Target, Macys, CVS, Walgreens and every other Walmart DOES. I said I wanted to speak to manager and supposedly the woman behind her was the manager. She said no, also. I had to get back to work with no time for lunch. At work called 3 other Walmarts, asked if the make-up could be returned. They all said "yes" and that any Walmart could do the return. Oh, and by the way I am WHITE.....I watched other customers get their money back with NO receipt. Since then been calling to speak to the manager. Just get put on an endless hold. District Manager is next. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS WAL-MART!!!!!

This is the worst Walmart ever and they are proud to have this honor. First u remodel customer service and deactivate the check cashing system and no one in the company cares less that people travel to cash their checks due to the reasonable check cashing fees and now can not cash there check,Second theres no management , for walmart to pay superviser, managers and district managers to maintain this dirty out of stocked Walmart your throwing your money away and its been like this for YEARS,which tells me as a company you can careless about the operation, I never use this walmart but I have to cash my disability check there and like I said the fees are great, due to your system being down for 2 weeks ( are you serious)it cost me $35 to cash that check when walmart cash the same check for$ 3.91,if your on a fixed income you cant afford to throw money away, either fix the on going problem there or close this location is embarrassing to other walmarts!!!

If I could give ZERO stars I would. Worst Walmart in the area. I try to avoid going there at all costs. The employees are lazy as h*ll and unhelpful. I recently figured Id shop online and have items delivered to the store. Even THAT was a horrible experience. Went to pickup area and no one was there. At least 5 employees strolling past , killing time doing nothing as usual, had to call for someone to come. Took d*mn near an hour. I love to shop at Walmart but go out of my way to other stores just to avoid this particular store. Unless they fire everyone and hire new people, they need to shut this whole store down and open somewhere else cause this store is a WASTE of good space. They could open up a Target or something. I like walmart better but in this case Im willing to settle cause any store with DIFFERENT employees would be better than what it is NOW. Corporate should make a surprise visit so they can see how lousy they are, its SHAMEFUL.
