I brought in some gold 10K 14K and 18K various peices of antique jewelery from my uncles estate. Their scales seem to be off as i was told one item was 17.1 pennyweight when the other places i visited confirmed the weight at 20.1 pennyweight. Could not get a straight answer about price. was offered $15/dwt for 10K. Called Harlod B. Weitz Inc. in Squrell Hill he offered $30/dwt for 10K. So let your fingers do the walking and dont get short changed. Any Reputable jeweler can quote you the price they are paying per penny weight for 10K or whatever karat gold you have over the phone. Kenyon made me come in, and then appeared miffed when i did not sell. And make sure you get the weights in writing, and of course go to more than one jeweler. I have bought from this guy (Doug) for years, not anymore. Oh yeah, I asked if their testing was non destructive and they said no its not dectructive. Well each peice now has a filed flat spot on it. dosent look nondestructive to me.

I had Doug make my wedding ring, and it is perfect! He custom made the mold, and helped me pick out a stone (a sapphire). Definitely go to Kenyon Jewelers if you want a trustworthy and experienced jeweler to work with!
