I recently ordered a pair of shoes online from journeys, and upon receiving them I was not very pleased with them. They didnt fit really well, and I didnt like the look of them on. I set the box on my counter when I took them back to my room, and before I knew it the box was gone. I didnt panic because I though that journeys would accept the shoes because I havent worn them yet, and I thought that they would understand what happend and at least give me something for the shoes ( at that point I would have taken a gift card or an exchange). A few days later I finally had the chance to go over to the store, and when I did the experience I had is one that makes me never want to shop there again. I walked into the store with my shoes in hand, went up to the counter and said " Hi, I have a little situation which I hope you can understand... my box for these got misplaced and I was wondering if I could///" I was cut off by a man who I believe now was the manager who rudly was interrupting in an aggravated tone that he can not take those shoes. I said back to him as collectively as I could "but I have the receipt, they have never been worn, they dont fit , and I only want an exchange or return" He then said to me that trying to return shoes without a box Is like going into a retail store and trying to return a shirt without a tag. At that point I was ready to leave and I had had it, and then he said to me in a flat voice that he could not re sell them and therefore he could not take them. And then I realized that he valued his reselling of the shoes more than his customer. First of all I have returned clothing at stores without a tag and got a full refund if they did not fit. I even did that in the same day at another store in the mall. Secondly, I dont know much about shoes but it is a cardboard box... is it that hard to replace. Is there something about the box that makes it irreplaceable to the store, I dont think so. I will never shop at another journeys in my life, or order from them online. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

I dont usually do this, but here goes: I have bought a few pairs of shoes from Journeys before. I like a few of the brands they offer. Well the other day I went in to buy a pair of shoes that were on sale. The only pair in my size were on display. The left shoe was out, and as hard as they could try, they couldnt find the right shoe. They offered to order them for me, which I did. I ordered them Tuesday at around 5pm and they arrived Thursday before noon. AWESOME! Except..the pair in the box marked 11 was actually a 10. I called again, told them the situation, and they looked for another pair locally, but there were none. Luckily, I had the day off work, so I went back out. This guy turned the store upside down looking for that lost right shoe again, even though he knew he wasnt going to find it. Then he called the store the mix up happened at and is having them rush the shoe out for me. These guys went above and beyond on this one. They very easily could have just re-ordered the shoe and had me take the extra time it took to deal with the online exchange process of sending it back, waiting until they received it, and then waiting for the new shoe to arrive. Instead, they creatively solved the problem so that my shoes get here faster. Kudos. I thought about giving 4 stars just because of the mix up with the sizes, but that had nothing to do with this store. This store is great!
