I visited this shop with a friend of mine on Saturday, June 7th of 2014. Im not sure who this wonderful lady is that is described in other reviews because I never met her. There was one woman watching the place, and my friend and I were the only two people in the shop. She watched us VERY closely, following us around the store and telling us where to stand to look at items. I am a young white female from Florida and my friend is a young black male from Jamaica. I am not usually one to play the race card, but she seemed especially concerned with my friend. As soon as we split up for a moment to look at different things, we were asked to leave because she had "just opened." Mind you, we had been shopping for about 10 minutes at this point, and it was late in the morning with the door wide open for customers. I asked why we were being told to leave, and she just repeated that she had "just opened" and so we were not welcome. I was very disappointed and honestly confused, but I will never again return to this shop. I had visited a few months prior and saw the same lady when I was with my mother. We bought a few things, and while she didnt kick us out that time, she was very quiet and not at all personable. Her shop sells many kitschy items that are completely unrelated to Philly, and what is related can be found in the PHL airport. Maybe youll have better luck like those with many of these other reviews, but after two trips, Im starting to think she pays someone to write those!

I went here to get a gift. I selected based off the yelp reviews. I walked around the store looking at things and did not touch anything until I got to the shirts which I opened one to look at, folded it, and put it back down. The lady working there asked me what size I wanted and I said I was just looking. I then proceeded to the cards (which I had full intention of buying one) I picked one up to which the lady muffled something to me and I had asked her excuse me she repeated and I told her I didnt understand her to which she said you dont understand my English. I kept looking and opened a card. The lady came over took the card from me and told me I wasnt to touch them and asked me which ones I opened. I told her only the one I was holding yet she took every card in the row to inspect to make sure I didnt damage them. I have NEVER been treated like that while shopping... Especially with non breakable items. I told her I wouldnt touch anything else and was leaving. Id much rather spend my money elsewhere. I have NO idea who this "nice lady" is that is apparently working there but she wasnt on shift when I walked into that store.

This little souvenir shop is special because Tina, the owner and shopkeeper, rocks. I went in as a tourist. Im in Philly for a conference and I have to do the dad thing and get my kids presents from my travels. I probably looked through her stuff for 15-20 minutes before I finally asked for help. Thats when Tina sprang into action. She asked about my family, asked what my kids liked, and then she started going through what she had. I had picked out some okay gifts, but she found things which were much more like what my kids would like. If I would have done that immediately, I would have saved time. Then she asked me what I wanted to see in the city. Before I knew it, she was circling things on a tourist map and telling me when I should go and what most tourists miss. The shop itself is fine. It is filled with all the souvenir paraphernalia you could want. Tina is what makes it amazing. She cares for her customers and I hope every tourist stumbles into her little store. Shes a special lady.

I feel obliged to put a bad review here haha because man the lady watching the shop has got an attitude. As with all the bad review givers, I did not met this "nice lady" described in the good reviews. What happened was I asked her if I can use my credit card and she responded immediately like she was offended. She said, cant you see the sign? dont be funny., pointing to the sign which is facing towards her but against me. I turned the sign around and it wrote credit or cash. Although I was kind of flattered by the fact that she assumed that I had x-ray vision. I was honestly shocked by the rudeness that she threw off, which is the opposite of everything that Ive felt in Philadelphia. Thank you for ruining 5 mins of my day.

As a 5th grade teacher from Baltimore, MD, I have taken my students into Xenos to shop for souvenirs on our field trip to Philadelphia. Ms. Tina, the owner, welcomes the students warmly and truly enjoys having them visit. She rushes to check them out at the register as quickly as possible, so they can continue on with their day of sightseeing. She is so sweet and generous to mail the teachers a thoughtful box of candy around the holidays as well. We will continue to take our business to support Tina in years to come!

I was simply walking down the street and came across this little shop. When I walked in I was greeted so warmly by (Tina) the shop owner. She began to ask where we were from and what brought my wife and I to philly. She was so nice and her shop was full of different souvenirs and nic-nacs. She gave us a map of the area and showed us all the great places to eat and shop nearby. The prices are reasonable for the amazing location. All and all, I had a wonderful experience and left with gifts for my whole family.

If only 0 Stars was an option. I came in for a job interview and she discriminated me because I was an African American Woman. I came to my interview on time and saw that she was still taking care of customers so I decided to browse around the shop to see the souvenirs. I guess she thought I might steal something because she proceeded to come up to me and tell me to wait outside. She is was rude and disrespectful and above all racist and I advise people not to buy from here at all.

The owner was so helpful and welcoming . I had the intention of only going in to pick up a few souvenirs which would of taken about 15 or 20 minutes only to be surprised that an hour an half passed by. She was amazing. Reasonably priced and huge selection. The store was well kept. I had a really nice experience there. I recommend going there not only for the souvenirs and candy (which she let us try before buying) but for the warm welcome and awesome conversations.

My husband and I decided to do some last min souvenir shopping before we headed home and found this place on google. Tina is the friendliest and most helpful person. Not only did she answer our questions but she was very knowledgeable. Selection of souvenirs is awesome and not overpriced. We are so happy we found this place. Definitely a must go to place.
