Overall, i felt like my head was stuck in a vacuum. I enjoy eating and shopping local and choose to do so over chains. However, this was an awful experience. I went to the media location tues @1 with the intention of sitting with my laptop for an hour. Apparently this is when they do the roasting. While seeing the machine and process is quaint and appeals to some patrons i found it to be terribly annoying; its sounds like a vacuum only 3 times as loud. i broke out my headphones and couldnt block the noise from the roaster. The acoustics in the building dont help either--glass walls, thin bare walls and floor, metal chairs. I would suggest to the owners to invest in some heavy rugs, acoustic foam or a large box for the roaster to soak up some of the white noise. I was chased out in less than 20 minutes by the noise and i probably wont go back unless a friend twists my arm (and i drink a lot of coffee). I gave the place 2 stars because the coffee and pastry were delicious. The macaroon was fresh and the coffee tasted very much like the allegro brand i get at whole foods and the price is comparable.

Words cannot even express how insanely relaxing, inviting, and beautiful the space is at the new Media location. The employees are SO kind (the idea of them being pretentious is absolutely ABSURD because they are the most down to Earth people in the universe.) I always have a great conversation with them and I dont care that my ORGANIC coffee takes more than one second when it is sourced ethically and responsibly, roasted on site, and prepared with love and perfection before it gets to my cup. Its worth so much more to me toknow the story behind what I put in my body and Im happy to pay just what is asked for it (which is very reasonable, in my opinion.) Use your wallet to support local, hard working entrepreneurs, people! Enough of the chains- enough of this entitled mentality that we have to cultivate this flawless experience and forsake community and integrity. Im so happy this company is expanding and doing such great things. In a topsy turvy world, its very comforting to know I have places like this to find my refuge and my tribe.

Burlap and Bean has been a favorite of mine for several years now. Their staff is really more of a family, and they welcome you into it with their kind and bubbly nature. Their in house roasted organic fair trade coffee is not over roasted and still manages to be consistently awesome. I also love the teas and that I can ask for a baristas choice and trust that whatever they give me is going to be good. Lastly, the shop turns into a music venue on Friday and Saturday nights, and Ive grown to trust that who ever is playing is going to be good :).

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! The coffee is delicious, yes - but it was the warm inviting atmosphere, and owner Tara that kept me coming back. Burlap and Bean is more than just coffee. I brought my son here every week for the first few years of his life! They support local mucisians, they support their staff (personally and professionally), and they support farmers by buying fair trade! Thank u Tara and burlap and bean for giving me and my son a place where we feel at home.

Its nice to have a local place that is owner-operated anywhere these days, so Burlap & Bean really stands out in Delaware County where weve been forced to choose from Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks for years due to lack of variety. There are comfortable chairs, its usually not overly noisy or crowded, and the prices arent egregious. The selection of treats and beverages is delightful and what the place lacks in novelty it makes up for in charm.

I first came across Burlap & Bean as part of an effort to find locally-roasted coffee, and they have since become the house coffee in my home. There are so many local roasters whose beans I would gladly drink every morning, but theirs is my favorite. I take home a couple pounds of Sumatra Mandheling each month, and Im never disappointed with them. I especially like knowing the date my coffee was roasted, which they stamp on each bag.

Dont drink any of their espresso based drinks. It will make anything you drink from other coffee shops taste terrible. If you would like to remain blissfully ignorant to how bland and stale the espresso is from every other coffee shop across America, do yourself a favor and dont go here. My ignorance is gone and I can never get it back. They also have the friendliest baristas.

This place sets the bar high for pretentious hipster garbage. I love the idea of a local coffee roaster, but Burlap and Bean makes it impossible to enjoy a cup of coffee in their store. Overpriced even accounting for their small business aspect and the management looks down on anyone outside the flannel, beard, and skinny jeans club. Not worth your trip.

Ive been there a few times at lunch and before work. It hasnt been very crowded any of the times I went, which is great if youre just looking to relax for a bit. Very comfy inside. Their heritage coffee is excellent, but their Sumatra is more memorable--if you enjoy dark roasts and theyve got it on you should really try it.

Really cozy spot. Great atmosphere, even better coffee. Their Americano puts Starbucks to shame. I love their whole beans too. Black and Tan is a top-3 bean for my Aeropress. The Open Mic night here is cool, insanely popular and crowded. I was five minutes late once and couldnt find a place to stand. So get their early.

The atmosphere here is very inviting. Every barista and worker you encounter may seem like the happiest person youve ever met and their knowledge on the drinks are comparable to their genuine interest in serving you the best. Open mic night on Wednesdays is BYO. 5 stars for these brothas and sistas.

I go here everyday on the way to work and wouldnt go anywhere else. Staff knows what I want and I have become friendly with many of them. All great people and they make great coffee because they are passionate about it. They roast on premises as well and are happy to answer any and all questions.

I ordered a medium latte that took 15 mins. There were at least 6-7 people working behind the counter which made my experience more annoying. Nonetheless, the coffee is decent but is not worth the wait.

A lovely place to sit and hang out, whether its while reading a book or using the free wi-fi or during the great music sessions on weekend evenings. Great products and staff will keep you coming back.

The baristas make you feel very welcome and explain everything with a helpful, warm, friendly demeanor. The atmosphere here is relaxed and welcoming. I would highly recommend this cafe.

Decent coffee but to expensive in my opinion. 1.60 for a 12 oz, are you kidding me? There baked goods are just ok, nothing special, but still better than Starbucks crap...

My favorite coffee/beverage spot on the main line. Best coffee and service; everyone is always so friendly when I go in. Fun open mic nights for music-lovers too!

Nice atmosphere. Free Wifi. Awesome staff. Coffee is above average, but theres better in the area (but there is not better in the Newtown Square immediate area).
