Dont be fooled by the charming old building, the "Best of Harrisburg 2012, 2013" signs posted outside the building or the fact that they are a local business. Dont waste your time here. My fiance and I wanted to support a local business by purchasing our wedding rings from a small business rather than a large chain but just because it is an "institution" in a small town doesnt mean they deserve or even want your business. My fiance and I went to the store one afternoon and met with a very nice woman who helped me design a custom wedding band, even going so far as to have the jeweler take a piece of metal and make a mock up of what the final band might look like. My fiance didnt see any rings he wanted and the woman told me that she would get back to me with the price for my ring in white gold. I left my name and number which she wrote down on an envelope and was told they would get back to me in a week. Nearly two weeks later, I gave them a call to see if they were able to determine a price for me. After leaving my name with the young woman who answered the phone, Jaime called me back. Jaime the jeweler told me that, uh, he uh, could kind of remember the ring (since he was the one who made the mock up...) but uh, I mean, there wasnt really much else to say. "Im not exactly sure why you called. Uh, I mean, I guess I could talk to you about the weather." Chuckle, chuckle. What? Basically Jaime the jeweler can remember a customer but cant seem to understand that the customer might want an estimate before they go ahead with the ring. He didnt seem to understand that I was calling because I had left my name and number so that they could call me back. Uh, so thats why was calling. Instead, Jamie made it clear that there was no reason for me to be calling him. He was confused as to what I wanted. The owner/jeweler is condescending and has poor customer service skills. If you want customers to come back, treat them with a little respect and return their phone calls. After speaking on the phone, he promised to call me back--he wanted to uh, look into things a bit, uh, more. He soon called me back and left me a message that I, uh, needed to come back in because, uh, there really wasnt anything he could tell me, haha. Even though he had already designed the ring, he couldnt help me? He couldnt even tell me how much a band in white gold would cost approximately? I called immediately and asked the young woman on the phone if he could call me back. Surprise, surprise...he never did.

I stopped in to pick-up a last minute gift for my wife on Christmas Eve. The ladies behind the counter welcomed me as I walked in. Then this guy comes out from the back and took over. He seemed more determined to tell me what I didn’t want and what they didn’t have then to show me what I asked for. To make matters worse, he took and completed a personal phone call while I stood there waiting on him to complete his phone call. I mean, REALLY?? I had stopped there because I didn’t get to shop on small business Saturday and I’m all about small business success. I did purchase a necklace but if it wasn’t so close the Christmas, I probably would have walked out the minute he took the phone call and went someplace who appreciates the customers who walk through the doors. This was my first and last visit to the store. I’ll find another small business jeweler the next time I need some jewelry. I don’t recommend this business.
