About 18 months ago as I was exiting the Giant Eagle Leetsdale store a fellow customer who was attempting to dislodge a grocery cart from the very long line of carts goint as far as the door backed into me knocking me to the concrete. I was taken by ambulance ($93.00) to the hospital. I was diagnosed with TMJ (jaw line out of line) and lost 7-8 crowns, posts and teeth. Giant Eagle had no insurance to cover my $14,000 in medical bills which are not covered by my insurance due to their being primarily dental. I went to arbitration court last week pro se and lost. The woman who testified for Giant Eagle gave alleged perjury and their lawyer gave false information to the arbitrators that I was entering being able to see the carts and not exiting. The arbitrators refused to let me give them my written testimonies, doctor reports, expenses, etc. The Chief of Police told me the store used to have the carts inside but chose to use that area for vending machines and store the carts outside and in front of the entrance/exit door. I would beware this store at all costs!

I go here frequently, but its usually at night since I work the late shift and always stop by after work to pick up a few things to eat, last night I was shopping around looking for ingredients for my dinner, and the aisle I was trying to go down was blocked by three employees standing there talking they were obviously stocking the aisle but at that moment were just talking, so I stood there as they continued to talk, all acknowledged me and saw me standing there, yet nobody attempted to move the push carts out of the way for me to get through after about five minutes they finally moved so I could get through, did they expect me to walk completely around to another aisle to go up the same? I think so... It was pure arrogance, then the one guy proceeded to talk to himself about me standing there waiting for them to go through, while I was right next to him looking at taco seasoning..... Very disrespectful...

Place used to be great, now they jacked up prices because the rich people around dont care. $8.99/lb for sliced ham. $12.99 /lb for sliced turkey. Half the time the stuffs mis-labeled so check every label on the deli stuff. yeah. kay. ill be going elsewhere. I can afford it fine but I cant pay that on principle alone.

The produce is always fresh and the deli and bakery staff are excellent. The only complaint I have is that you wait a while if you need help with the self check out machines, which can be extremely irritating if you are in a hurry. Other than that, the store is clean and the staff is great.

I shop here all the time so its not bad. Its just the closest grocery store to my house. I gave it two stars because they only have one human cashier working no matter how busy it is. During busy times self checkout gets bogged down unless you have 12 items or less.

Giant Eagle is a unique supermarket chain that has kept competition out of the Pittsburgh market, making prices higher and choice lower. It has proximity convenience, but Safrans in Sewickley will often have items that Giant Eagle is missing.

I dont have anything bad to say about the Leetsdale Giant Eagle. As the 3-star rating says "Its OK." But I also dont know what I would suggest for them to improve it. It just doesnt get me excited. (Should I get excited about a grocery store?)
