I first became aware of Ironstone Building Supply in Lancaster, Pa via Craigslist. They have a nice selection of quality closeout and overstock building supplies. Their website is loaded with product detail and pricing. I strongly advise going over the website and doing a little product research before visiting the store. This will help immensely in your discussions with the staff and ensuring you get the best value on material for your project. Most of the store itself is a small storefront in a much larger warehouse. I really like the whole concept, the selection, the quality (runs the whole spectrum for just about everybodys wallet), the pricing, etc. Customer service, like most other places, is hit or miss depending on the time of day and whos waiting on you. The one salesman, a tall older gentleman, stood out from the rest in the customer service dept. He seemed genuinely eager to assist, was extremely knowledgable and took his time answering all questions. Most importantly, he seemed to enjoy his job interacting with customers. Now, thats a novel concept, LOL! Delivery was reasonable as they only charge one-way. Their 20 trailer should handle most loads yet get into the smallest sites with ease. I would have given them a higher score but, unfortunately, their customer service needs some work. That said, Id definitely consider them for future projects.

Ive been using Ironstone for a while now and have never had a problem with them, or any of the products they sell. In the past I bought some end run wood flooring, windows and some siding from them. Recently I bought all new kitchen cabinets from them, they had the best price and I knew that I could trust them. I made a major mistake when order them, and they bent over backwards to help me resolve it. When was the last time you saw Lowes or Home Depot try to help you fix your own mistake?? I will continue to use Ironstone, and I highly recommend them.

Have bought PVC decking and truckloads of PVC trim at deep discounts several times in recent years, doing a farm-house rehab. Theyre always happy to check their in-store inventory system to ensure it matches whats posted on their website BEFORE you drive an hour to purchase, and one time, when we misjudged how well a certain length material would fit in our pickup, they offered to loan us a saw. Excellent, well-managed company from our experience, and NO, I am not the owners sister-in-law.
