Their meat department is second to none. Short of an actual Butcher Shoppe (which no long exist outside of a metropolis), Karns meats are the best choice. They offer the largest selection of cuts, and the ability to special order anything they may not have in stock. I find their prices on their non-meat department goods to be higher than other chain stores...a.k.a. Giant Foods, Wegmans, Weis. However, that being said, they have a GREAT international food aisle that has great prices, and the largest variety Ive found in Central PA (outside an asian market). They have self-checkout lanes, which is nice. They have a club card, but its not required to get sale prices (yeah!). I dont find Karns to be conveniently located to me, but I drive the extra mile when I want the best meats at the best prices. Oh, and their customer service is out of this world!

Customer service has a lot to be desired at the Allentown Blvd store. Ordered a pound of steam shrimp today. After she steamed it and was placing in the bag some fell on the floor then turns hands me the bag with a smile and says have a nice day. I bring it to the managers attention and another kids attention that work there and all he(manager) says is I will have a talk with her. NO I WONT EVER SHOP HERE AGAIN AND FOR SURE PASS THE WORD OF YOUR OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I always love Karns, deli and meat section is always awesome, tbone steaks were 7.99lb so I bought a few of those to grill and they were delicious. The only thing I dont like is when you see the big ads that are like 2 for 6$ but then if you buy the larger package it ends up being cheaper than the 6$. Why do grocers do that, its very manipulative!

Weve shopped at Karns for over 40 yrs. Their meat prices are generally quite good, especially when theyre having sales. The thing we like most about Karns is that they carry an extremely wide variety of items not typically found in stores this size, and not found in either Wegmans nor Giant. These items are condiments, soups, seasonings, etc.

Great fresh meat and seafood selection. Also great place for catering... They have a hot food kiosk in the back that sells cheap great tasting fried chicken in several styles: fingers, wings, thighs, breasts, popcorn etc...

Great local grocery store chain. Theyre known for their high-quality meats. They also have GREAT friend chicken and chicken strips, and make some fantastic "heat and eat" soups they make in-house.

Possibly the best fried chicken anywhere.... the store made cream slaw is incomparable....great staff, particularly in the hot deli....and you always will see someone you know when you shop there
