I had a similar bad experience but trusted past experiences buying or selling games in the past. I understand the policy of not giving prices over the phone under the provision of testing systems. What I question is the "30 day guarantee" on "retro" systems. Its not a 30 day return policy, its supposedly a policy where only if the item is found to be defective that he will take it back. Now when I bought the system, he tested one of the two games I purchased and said the other wasnt listed on the company facebook yet but was in a stack of tested and non tested games yet. My issue is when it didnt work at my home and it was retested at the store he wouldnt take it back. You see, sometimes a car has an engine issue but the issue mysteriously doesnt present at the mechanic requiring further proof from the client. And then he started rambling about how I degradated the box condition when I was waiting over 45 minutes for the business to open in the first place. Overall, I felt as though I was being told I was stupid and undermined and was forced to walk out with what I purchased. Whatever happened to the customer being right? If it doesnt work for me, I dont want it. Still doesnt work at my house so screw this place. Maybe he rigs stuff up to work for him but in the split second of taking it from me to test he fiddles with some micro piece and then it works for him. Im pissed after spending almost $230 for a retro brick.

I stopped by here on vacation, kept seeing posts about it on instagram. Walked in the door, the guy told my girlfriend she had to leave her drink on the tile by the front door (kinda understandable) but were in our mid 20s lmao. Then I started to look at the games, I asked the man if they had any Sega Genesis Power Base converters, he asked if I meant the 32x converter, I told him no and I explained it was the original converter for the Sega Genesis so it could play Sega Master System games. He said he has the after market ones, and I told him no, and explained that Sega made one back then for it, oem. He said no, only the 32x and that hes been collecting video games for an apparent 30 years and hes never heard such a thing. I explained again, because I had one as a kid. And then the guy started to be a smartass/standoffish and said hes been collecting for 30 years but he doesnt know anything. I told him to look it up, and he started to and claimed he doesnt see anything on it. I looked at his screen and seen the power base converter in the first few photos and said that was it. And all he could say was "oh, I never seen that". I put the stuff I wanted back on the shelf and walked out. Obviously if you want people to come back, dont be a dick. 30 years collecting my Ass.

"Wouldnt discuss prices over the phone" which is no way to get business. But I tried going twice anyway to check it out. The 1st time I pulled up to the house/store around noon, but they didnt open until 3 p.m.. So I went back today and arrived at 3:25 p.m. but the store was closed anyway. I tried calling, but no answer. I sat there for 10 minutes, but they did not open or answer when I knocked. If they really offered "way more than gamestop does", I would definitely discuss true prices over the phone, because if it really is true that they offer way more than gamestop then thats how you would pull me away from them. I will never know because I am done trying. Ill stick with a store that is open all day and night and I can look up pricing and trade-in values for online before I go.

Joseph Gronchick seriously you dont know anything about games. I been gaming for over 15 years and I havent found a better retro store than 1up. Not only they host tournaments which donate money to charities but they also have a ton of retro stuff they just stock in super smash bros. hopefully they have it next time i visit there. I got my retron,snes,n64 and hopefully soon when i get my gamecube ill be stopping bye. They got rare games like earthbound and hopefully they will receive a virtual boy soon because thats all im missing to play every nintendo game ever once i get a nes ill still keep the retron though. The people their are nice and the prices are the lowest in the county better than going to those retro places in wilkes-barre or online.

The owner is very rude and acts like he knows everything about every system and game made always saying he just sold the latest copy when u ask if he has it. Makes u feel very uncomfortable when shopping to spend money to waste at his dump shop and the game prices are maxed past gamestop prices .if i could rate him a zero i would but u could only a 1 so hes getting a satisfactory of at least that i wouldnt waste my gas to goto his shop agin goto gamestop or the video game store in wilkea barre where they talk to u like ur human

Im only replying to the person with the one star. I havent gone to the store yet .but plan on doing so later this week. To clear this up, business like this dont quote over the phone usually because if they start giving prices then everyone else in the store will go well this person said this, when they could be wrong. Now if they had a database and prices are firm then I can see them giving quotes. You have to understand its for their own protection. Especially being a small town mom pop kind of thing.

Do not shop there !!!!!!! I bought a new system ( and 3 vintage nintendo games). The red flag should have been when I was making the purchase the employee sated to me they do not take returns but, dont worry they sell alot of these RETRON game consoles and it will be fine. What the hell kind of store will sell a product and not take it back when it does not work. I am convinced they new it was defective and sold it to me anyway. Do you self a favor stay away from this place.

This store is awesome. Very clean and professional. The owner is a cool guy who knows a lot about games and consoles new and old. Going in the store reminds me of being a kid and going to video game stores and seeing the nes, snes, and sega games on the shelf. Very cool

An awesome place to find retro games for your childhood. The owner Jamie is very helpful and knowledgeable. If your looking for a place to find great games at great prices, 1up games is the place for you.

Owner is pretty rude. He has a lot of games but most of them arent great, and are over priced. He also charges his Amiibo for what theyre worth instead of retail price which I understand but still sucks.
