Dry goods are priced reasonably, but packaged goods run a little high, like $6 for a 14 oz. box of cereal that can be had in the health section of a grocery store for around $4. This is to be expected at a small store with less buying power, though. Often, however, their brand name stuff is on sale. Compare a 6-pack of Zevia soda, $4.89 on sale at Echo Hill vs. $5.49 regular price at Giant. Again, you mainly want to come here for the bulk dry goods. We recently paid $11.70 for 14.62 lbs of stone ground 100% whole wheat bread flour, or 80 cents a pound. Rice, nuts, yeast, baking soda, soy protein isolate are also reasonable. Pastas are priced well, but most are semolina, not whole wheat. They also carry lots of special items you wont find many other places, like raw goats and cows milk, vegetarian chicken-less soup base, "vegetarian support" nutritional yeast and all sorts of interesting spices. Worth a trip out, and the Mennonites who own and run the place are a friendly sort.

Echo Hill is a magical place where Ive been coming for 20 years and have sent many friends who become "regulars" too. Most of my shopping has been for baking supplies, especially nuts, which are always fresh and reasonably priced. A wide selection of flours. Also dried fruits. Every time Im there, they have added organic products, so theres always something new to try. Theres a lemon yogurt for which the best adjective is "delectable," and a chocolate almond butter as well as regular almond butter and cashew butter, all delicious and made right there. Another reviewer mentions the "back room" womens singing; sounds as if they are practicing for choir. All the staff are friendly and helpful, and the store is spotless.

Its hard to think of a spice or obscure grain that you cant find here. Every time Ive been its been packed with shoppers. The prices are reasonable and even though the place is tiny you could spend hours exploring each isle because theyre packed with different and unique items. I got some plain yogurt that was delicious. They even have a hitching post out front if youre driving the horse and buggy.

This is one of the best food stores Ive ever shopped at. I live in Vermont but every time Im in PA and in the area I make sure to go there. The best selection of flours, herbs and more at most reasonable prices. I wish we had something like it in Vermont but alas we dont. Keep up the good work.

This is one of my favorite stores! They have everything you need to make most any type of food. They also carry toiletries, herbal items, books, and some cookware. You can buy small amounts or large amounts. Their prices are reasonable and the service is always friendly!

Best place to shop at, especially if you are looking to buy in bulk. Their prices on organic foods are the best around; much cheaper than Wegmans, Giant, Whole Foods etc..... Plus they are Christians, and they need our support for the hard work they put into it.

If you are looking for cooking ingredients sold in bulk or just a few items you need to check out the nicest country type market in the area. They carry old world items as well as more usual groceries. The staff is friendly, very helpful and knowledgeable.

Best place for finding organics, flour and sweeteners, herbs and flavorings. We bake bread, make our own pastas and this place has it all. Just wish their hours were a little longer...hard to fit in with a busy schedule.

I love echo Hill. This is the best place in the area for specialty organic and bulk food items. I know that if I cant find it anywhere else, that I can find it here and they wont charge an arm and a leg for it.

A remarkable variety of minimally-processed food products here, including a couple of brands of certified raw cows milk. I was happy to see Wayfare Bakery bread (from Bethlehem Township, PA) on the shelves.

I love all the natural organic foods you can get here and the deli meats last so much longer than getting them at the grocery store.

It generally has the groceries I cannot find elsewhere in Kutztown area. Moreover many grocery items are cheaper than at Giant.
