Art of Recycle is a fabulous place for creative humans of all ages. Kind of like Disneyland, though -- or any place on earth, including ones own home -- its probably not the kind of place where one would plunk a one-year-old on the floor and leave them unattended, crossing ones fingers that the child doesnt swallow a marble or jab metal objects in outlets or run off and get its face tattooed or vote for Trump or that kind of thing. So ignore the one star review -- an inattentive mom is having a hissy fit because she wasnt paying attention to her kid, and after said kid was prevented from causing harm to itself several times, she couldnt have the people who created Art of Recycle fired from Art of Recycle. Better yet, dont take my word for it -- go check out Art of Recycle yourself, or any of the bajillion kid-friendly events they participate in, or talk to any of the parents there who know where their kids are and are paying the least bit of attention to what theyre doing what *they* think of Art of Recycle. Art of Recycle is doing good stuff in fun ways and is super inclusive. Theyre a six-star operation in a five-star world. If you are at all interested in art or recycling or community creativity, please check them out because youll be happy you did. (And give them a good rating when you do!)

I have been volunteering/visiting/shopping at AoR for nearly 4 years now. I work with adults with intellectual disabilities and AOR is even amazing at opening their arms and resources to the company I work for! They are constantly go above and beyond what the majority of businesses do, in order to see their community thriving and happy! In response to Alex Knight, I not only know Chelas and Mr. special from volunteering, but from personal friendship and they have NEVER yanked an object from a child. Let alone laid their hands on them. They have a heart for children, AND ANY CHILDS SAFETY. If you do not want someone else "parenting" your child, do not leave them in a position to do so. You are in a business, not a play house. Be responsible enough to keep an eye on your child and maybe rethink your approach. Thank God someone had an eye on the child, for if she ingested something off the floor you would only be complaining about that. You sir, need a bit of commons courtesy and business etiquette.

In response to Alexs review. I apologize that your wifes experience was so terrible at AoR, but unfortunately we cannot allow one year old toddlers to crawl about the floor unsupervised. The marbles that the toddler was playing with are a choking hazard as were the marker caps. The safety of your child is more important than the merchandise, but the mom yelling at the child from two aisles away to put things back was not the proper way to address the situation. I was trying to help by coaxing the child into giving me the markers. I did not touch your child. If the mom had been near the baby she would have been able to see what was actually happening. Unfortunately, because of this situation AoR can no longer be lenient on parents such as yourself. For liability reasons, toddlers must be kept in strollers at all times. AoR has too many small objects that could be swallowed and cause suffocation.

The Art of Recycle is a great place with lots of great treasures for your crafty needs. They have a fun craft area for children to make finger puppets and then perform a little show in their puppet thearter. I have shopped there multiable times. I also have hired Chelas and Mr.Nobody Special for my daughters first birthday party and also for her fourth. We love them they are so wonderful with the.children and go out of their way to make sure the children get exactly what they want. At my daughters party a child asked for something to be face painted and Chelas hadnt known what it was so instead of telling the child no she looked up on her phone and did a great job painting the image. They are so kind and talented. They are an amazing asset to have in our town. Thank you for all the wonderful work you do in our community.

Art of Recycle is a wonderful world for children of all ages. A place to spark your creativity....to go back in time and play to your hearts content. The shop is filled to the brim with all sorts of interesting things that spur your imagination. The store keepers are congenial....welcoming and helpful. Mr. Special is so talented...he can make something from anything and will help you do it too. Chelas has a gentle way of giving positive feedback that makes you want to create and to feel great about it. The first time I visited the shop I thought I had found a home. If I didnt live almost 2 hours away I would be there everyday. As a creative little girl of 68 years....it is a fine place to be.

Excellent venue for parents and children to come craft. The craft castle is available for free for older children to experiment with creativity and create wonderful puppets or whatever. Small children may need some supervision, as small parts are easy to swallow, but most parents SHOULD already realize this. Ms. Chelas and Mr. Nobody Special are the creative directors for this wonderful wonderland of art and craft, and I know them both to have big hearts and exciting ideas. Mr. Special can be seen at the Ephrata Park on concert nights making balloon animals. They are a team! Go as soon as you can. This is a very neat addition to the artistic community of Ephrata.

Art of Recycle is an outstanding establishment in the community! The plethora of items they have are every teacher, crafter, activity director, childs dream for craft projects, home projects, school projects and more! With the plethora of items, this also means that any young child should without a doubt be monitored at ALL times as there a ton of small items for an unattended child to choke on. Art of Recycle is also a wonderful outlet for respectful school age children to explore, be creative and use their imaginations instead of their electronic devices for an afternoon of fun! Absolutely wonderful place. Keep up the fantastic work!

This place is not for children the employee who is a women snatched an item from our 1 and a half year old daughter with force and said she was opening the markers, markers which my wife was purchasing. You do not touch other peoples children and not even apologize. When I tried to talk to the owner the womens husband started to say that our daughter was making a mess and tried to explain themselves. If you dont like kids dont work at a place that kids frequent. Never come here and if you do, keep a close eye on your children.

I have been going here for many years and can see the heart that chelas and nobody have poured into this amazing place. It is a great space for kids with so much to do and see including a craft castle where you can make finger puppets (I admit even as an adult making them is really fun). The community outreach focus of their business has helped make ephrata a great place to live. I highly recommend this magical place to everyone.
