Imagine all you need is Gatorade for someone who is sick. Unfortunately you live in the Dillsburg area, so you have very limited options for near by places to shop. You choose Dollar General. Bad Choice. You walk into a crowded, dirty, unorganized store, glancing at the long line and single cashier, but decide to try your luck anyway. You finally find the Gatorade, which for some reason is not with the other sports drinks, and grab a few things for yourself as well. The line is only 4 deep so you decide to wait. Once its your turn your card is declined. Try again, debit or credit, same result. You step aside to check your balance on your phone. Plenty of money, so you try again. Nope. Call your bank. They say its a merchant problem. Go back in to try one last time. The manager refuses to even try again and is rude in general. You finally do what you should have done when you walked in and realized it was dirty and unorganized... leave. Go to the nearby gas station where you pay way more, but have a pleasant experience and use the exact same card to pay successfully even though it was refused at DG. I will never step inside another Dollar General. I suggest you dont either.

I love Dollar Generals. Heck I even have the app! Im not saying dont go here. By all means go here! Go to any Dollar General! But.... The reasons I disliked this place: Disorganized. Rolltainers and Uboats everywhere. In almost every aisle. The store is small so it was hard to not run into people or rolltainers. Complete mess. Store looked as if it has zero employees, and if they do have employees....theyre clearly not doing their jobs. It looked as if a Tornado came through it. Nothing was front faced. Nothing was shelfed properly. Honestly, reminded me of a thrift store. Where crap was just thrown onto a shelf and its a free for all. This is no "one day mess", where theyre just having a bad day. This is the work of "screw it, dont care" by employees for many many days. However, the cashier I seen was nice. Greeted. Willing to help while I was at check out. There was a guy, not sure if he was management or what. Though he was behind the counter. Didnt greet, in fact I said hello and he didnt reply. This store has great potential. If managed by the right person, shut down for a couple days to get reorganized and cleaned up, and had more friendly staff.

Its an okay place to stop for to pick up generally needed items, theres more variety than at Dollar Tree but the prices are a little higher so the name Dollar General can be misleading to some consumers. The reasons I didnt give this location a higher rating is the floor and aisle layout isnt very accessible for those with mobility issues requiring a wheel chair or motorized mobility device like a power chair or scooter. The other reason is due to only one register open during peak hours of business.

I bought tubes of poligrip and inside the box was a coupon for $1.00 off. I looked at the expiration date and it said 12/31/15. Seriously you are selling 1.5 year old mouth products??????? The clothing section looks like a dump no organization at all.

Needs alot of work...always out of stuff..floors always dirty... freezers always down...staff is slow always a line to check out...BRING BOSS MAN (JOHN). Back and the store will be GREAT again

Its within walking distance for me. Some of the staples we buy are cheaper here than at Giant. Staff is friendly. I only wish you could buy fresh fruit, or produce.

Clerks are super friendly, prices good, and selection decent. Only place in Dillsburg that carries some non-food merchandise, so its a good location!
