Felt like a mistake... turns out it was. Review: I used to live the city so Id usually go to Jewelers row in Philadelphia and hit the major jewelers there who were all about good service, so maybe Im biased but... when I left Whitemarsh jewelers, I did not feel good about my purchase. I was left wondering if I made a mistake. They didnt leave me with any confidence that "I was covered" or that theyd take care of any problems. And in fact, they didnt. I bought a string of pearls for my wife as a gift for an occasion over a month away. They assured me I could return them if she didnt like them. Turns out she didnt really care for them so I went to return them. Even though they assured me I could return them, all theyd give me was store credit. Great. So to cut our losses, we brought the engagement ring I bought for my wife in Italy because the setting had bent over the years and it was a suspension mount and no one was really able to repair it correctly. So my wife picked out another setting and they put the old diamond in the new setting. Dont know why, but they couldnt get it in right. Their own ring and they werent able to simply place a diamond into the setting correctly and they acted like it wasnt their problem. But what really bothered me was the fact that they just did not stand behind their work. For example, after they sized her for the ring, there was some concern that she sort of fell between two sizes so a decision had to be made one way or the other. I asked the owner if once we get the ring and it doesnt really fit as well as shed like, will they work with it until it is right and he flat out said no. They would not stand behind the sizing because we agreed to the size. If it didnt fit, wed have to pay them more money to fit it. And this was after I had already gotten a bad vibe from this guy anyway. Believe me, if we werent locked in to that misleading store credit from the "return", I would have dropped the deal on the glass counter in front of me, smiled and walked away. But since I was already misled and denied my promised return, I was stuck. live and learn. NEVER PICK A JEWELER BY CONVENIENT LOCATION, was my lesson learned.

HORRIBLE customer service. Damaged my ring. Owner is RUDE. My husband purchased my engagement ring from Whitemarsh (unfortunately). Ring was damaged by whomever mounts the diamonds. I noticed the prongs on the head werent symmetrical when I picked it up... and Im not even a jeweler. Was again back in the hands of the jeweler that damaged it. This time, when it was picked up, I noticed the design on the side was "smashed" from the tools that apparently held the ring in place. Ring was ultimately sent back to be fixed. Were not done. Months later the diamond starts to wiggle. We take it to another jeweler who immediately looks and says the original jeweler carved too much of the metal out of the head and it subsequently cracked it inside. We were told exactly how crappy the work was. I actually tried to communicate with the owner John, who once again got aggressive and said I damaged the ring. Sorry, I dont own the tools to dig out metal and crack a head. Forget this place, let it go out of business. GO ANYWHERE ELSE. You dont deserve this hell.
