Last year took my 2011 highlander in for inspection. i used to be a mechanic and did PA state inspections myself so i had a good idea what i was in for. Tires were low and i planned that out accordingly. service writer doesnt smile and looks miserable, i felt bad for him. i drop off my truck and get a call in a few hours. it needs all brakes at a nice tune of $$. i asked about the tires which i thought was weird as i noted in multiple areas it had less than 2/32" tread which should fail. the SW says the truck is all apart and ready for the brake job. I asked them to put it back together as i would pick it up and do the work myself. he hesitated and said they were so bad he didnt want me to drive home with them for a safety concern. i let him know i was competent enough to gauge that having driven the truck to the shop and all around that week prior. "Just button it up for me Ill be right there" im sure were my words. I bought the pads front and back and picked up the truck and immediately took it home and got her apart. What do i find....first thing is the dirt on the rear wheels and even the lug nuts is all untouched. State says at least one front one rear needs to come off. doubt this happened, but ok.... second thing is i have 6/32 front and 8/32 rear. where is the danger, and where is the failure? state says if pads/have less than 2/32 or are heat cracked/shiny etc it would fail. i replace the pads just because of the hassle and take the truck back. The service writer could only apologize. i didnt make a big scene but please take this into consideration when getting your car serviced here. i got my tires elsewhere that next day. this year however, i did take my 63 dart 13" wheels to have a leak fixed. the tech couldnt fix it as the wheel didnt fit on their machine....a safety hazard he tells me. OK, but he did take some advice from an old mech and was even kind enough to hook me up with some bead sealer since they dont sell that in the store. again, i took it home and fixed it myself w/ a homemade bead breaker...and using the free bead sealer the kind young man gave me. i work in the medical field now and there are medical advocates out there. for the unknowing persons that drive cars....there should be an automotive advocate to help out and prevent the rip offs. im that person for my family and friends. i hope others can find someone like that. this pep boys is like most all things in life. one thing, one person, one experience doesnt define the whole entity. but...please do be careful and mindful when dropping that cash for a repair.

To Whom This May Concern, I have been going to PepBoys since I turned 16 years old which was 7 years ago to get an oil change done on multiple cars -- whether for me or my parents. The past two years at the Bensalem location have not been good years, but I have been a loyal customer. They are rude, unprofessional; people who simply do not care about customer service and walk past you when you have a question. Yesterday was a particularly bad experience and it actually made me LEAVE as a customer to go to FireStone who happily took care of me. Online you have a place to schedule appointments for car services, well I booked an appointment two hours in advance (2:00pm, Sunday, July 24th.) I received an e-mail stating my appointment was confirmed -- as I was walking out the door my cellphone rings from a Bensalem number. I answer the phone and "Bill," is on the other end saying I cant bring my carf in they dont take appointments -- really? I can schedule an appointment any day, any time, same day or not. So I tell Bill but I was confirmed, I have the e-mail. And he proceeds to tell me that they were "too busy" and dont take online appointments -- so why do you have the capability online? Its a waste of manpower (time, and money) to have someone CALL PAYING CUSTOMERS to tell them not to bring in their vehicle. If they dont offer the service that is fine -- take it off the website. Bill was rude -- when I proceeded to say what I did for a living, and why I needed my car back as soon as possible he proceeded to say they were booked and couldnt help me. I told him "no problem, Ill take my money, my CARS,. and my family else where." Not only did you lose an entire family of business, but I will make sure that my voice be heard regarding your customer service and just how poor the performance is. You may contact me if you wish, however, the experience in Bensalem on Street Road are AWFUL. Hopefully you read the entirety of the e-mail and will correct the issues in the building before you lose more customers that are (at this case were) as loyal as myself.

As a previously Pep Boys customer, I am totally disappointed with the service provided at Bensalem, PA. This is my 3rd time visiting the store with an appointment. Did not worked out and finally had to write this review. If you want to waste your time, book an appointment with them. Because the dont value their customers time. First time, I waited for 2 hours in their hot and completely uncomfortable, waiting area. Then they took my car into an open slot and after working on it, one of the rep told me that they cant fix it today because they dont have the mechanic available who fix that particular stuff. Second time, I went there to fix my AC and they had a deal going on of FREE AC check up. I had an appointment and this time I waited for like 6 hours literally. After that again one of the rep came and told me that they found the problem and it will cost me $872 some change. I was like hell no. I am okay. I took my car to another store and got it fixed under $225. All they know is how to rob people. Third and last time today - 08/05/14. I booked an appointment for Sunday (08/03/14) to get my vehicles state inspection done and they told me that they cant do it today because they were still working on the cars from Saturday. I was like okay cool. Booked another appointment for today (Tuesday) and same stuff. Waited for 2 hours and then I got really mad. I went to the customer service and told them that I need my car keys back. I have a job to do. The rep told me if I wanted to talk to their general manager. I thought to taking care of this problem over here with helping others. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. DONT EVEN THINK OF BUYING A SMALL PART FROM THIS STORE.

I took my car there today for an inspection, I had previously gotten the emissions done there without a problem, 2 months ago, and took care of problems they found. Previously, in June 2010, they found I needed wipers, 1 new tire and axles replaced. They neglected to tell me that it was really just the axle boot that needed to be replaced, I found this out later myself, when I removed the wheels. Today, I dropped it off, removed my head unit face plate and locked it in the glove box. I told them to replace the tire that needed to be done. And wasnt expecting anything else to be needed to be done. I was called at 10am, 2 hours after I dropped it off, saying I needed new rear brake rotors, but that the rear pads barely passed. I told them to replace the rotors but not the pads. When I returned at 1:30, I found they had charged me for new rear pads as well, eventhough I did not want them, as well as a $16 labor warranty on the rear pads, another thing I didnt want. They gave me my money back on the labor warranty, but refused to specify exactly why they changed my rear pads. I returned to my car and found that my inspection sticker was from 2 months prior, not august, and that someone had opened my locked glove box. I questioned the service manager, olga, and she gave me the new current sticker for free. But when we questioned the person that did the work on my car, he had no idea how my glove box became unlocked. Needless to say Im very unhappy with their lack of professionalism and will be filing a complaint with their corporate headquarters.
