I HAVE A PEP BOYS CUSTOMERS VEHICLE HERE IN MY SHOP. LONG STORY SHORT HAD A MOTOR REPLACED IN LATE APRIL TOOK A WEEK TO GET IT DONE. BETWEEN THE MONTH OF MAY TO JULY THE TRUCK HAD BEEN BACK 12 TIMES FOR MOTOR RELATED ISSUES NOW THEY KEPT THE TRUCK FOR ROUGHLY A MONTH AT THE END OF JULY HE GOT IT BACK AUGUST 17TH. LONG ENOUGH FOR THE WARRANTY TO EXPIRE. IT WAS SENT TO A DEALERSHIP FOR A WEEK THEY RECOMMENDED CAP ROTOR WIRES. YOU GUYS DONT HAVE ANY ASE CERTIFIED TECHNICIANS THERE? THAT COULD PROPERLY DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. WHAT ABOUT THE SPARK PLUGS? JUNK YARD MOTOR THEY PAID A COUPLE HUNDRED BUCKS CHARGED THE CUSTOMER 900.00 FOR THE MOTOR. TOTAL COST 2296.00. COULDNT EVEN PUT FRESH SPARK PLUGS IN. NOW THE VEHICLE SITS UNUSED BECAUSE THE MOTOR KNOCKS AND CAN NOT HOLD OIL PRESSURE. THE BEST PART OF THIS CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE IS THE SWINDLING OF HIS DEPOSIT BY THE SERVICE MANAGER WHO WAS TERMINATED FOR IT. TOOK HIS 1000.00 DOLLARS AND GAVE HIM A GIFT CARD FOR A 1000.00 TO USE AT CHECK OUT SAID IT WOULD BE LEFT IN SAFE UPON COMPLETION. THIS CUSTOMER HAD BEEN USING PEP BOYS FOR 20 YEARS NEVER HAD BEEN ASKED FOR DEPOSIT BEFORE. NOW THAT ALL THIS HAS HAPPENED THE CUSTOMER IS SCREWED SO IM TRYING TO HELP HIM. IVE SPOKEN WITH DON THE MANAGER AT PEP BOYS AND AGREES SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE BUT HIS HANDS ARE TIED BECAUSE THE WARRANTY OF THE JUNK YARD MOTOR IS EXPIRED I WAS TOLD TO CONTACT THE AREA MANAGER SO I DID LEFT MESSAGES NOTHING NO CALL BACK. SO I TRIED THE DISTRICT MANAGER NOTHING !!!!!!! BEEN ON THE PHONE WITH CUSTOMER RELATIONS 10 TIMES LEFT MESSAGES FOR THE BIG MANAGERS. NOTHING!!! I EVEN TRIED TO MAKE A DEAL GET ME THE PARTS TO HELP THIS CUSTOMER AND I DO THE JOB FREE OF CHARGE TO THE CUSTOMER. NOTHING!!!!!! PEP BOYS WAS PURCHASED FOR 835,000,000.00 AND I CANT EVEN GET 400.00 DOLLARS IN PARTS TO FIX THERE MISTAKE!!!!! THIS MAJOR CORPORATION GIVES SMALLER AUTOMOTIVE FACILITIES A BAD NAME. NOT ALL FACILITIES OPERATE IN THIS FASHION!! SO THANK YOU MY SHOP WILL CONTINUE ON KEEPING YOUR UNWANTED AND UNAPPRECIATED CUSTOMERS

My 2006 Chevy Cobalt went 160, 475 miles on my original brake pads and rotors, currently have 168, 758 and still my original clutch. Went here for new brake pads and rotors $260, great price, 3mos later my car was shaking and slipping whenever I hit my brakes at high speeds. Took it back, and was told "nothing we can do must be the way you drive" Obviously I know how to drive coasting, down shifting, and anticipating stops, all to reduce stopping and increasing MPGs. That 160K includes 14K of towing a small camper around the entire continental U.S. crossing the Rocky Mts at 11,000 ft with a stock 4cyl cobalt and 1,800lbs camper. 2yrs of Living in Los Angeles stop and go traffic every day. All on my stock pads and rotors. Currently its been a year or more and I try and use my brakes sparingly because it feels as if they will fail at any moment. This car is my back up / extra car since I bought a new car last October. So Im not looking on putting any more money into it but I will never go to this Pep Boys again. 11yrs and 160K (14K under extreme conditions) on original pads and rotors, and these new ones from Pep Boys started showing problems after 3mos, of flat South Jersey highway driving. I had the pads and rotors done on 1/12/2016 and spoke with Don Dougherty and the mechanic was Todd Crowthers. WILL NEVER TRUST MY VECHILE TO THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!!

Went in to fix a problem with my wheel drifting, and requested alignment service if that would fix it. I told the mechanic before he did any work to call me. I received a call thirty minutes later saying my car was ready to be picked up. They did an alignment change, but my wheel still drifted. I left the car again, and I called after almost 24 hours of hearing nothing. They said they werent sure why the wheel drifted. Another 24 hours go by and they say its a bent rim. The one mechanic said the other who originally worked on my car was from Nissan and had no idea how to fix cars. People, the store manager wrote a five star review on here. If you work hard for your money avoid the "boys" at all costs.

I was beyond happy with the customer service at this Pep Boys location. I have a 7 month old so I called beforehand to see how long of a wait it would be. The other locations told me it would be hours to wait for the car. Ted told me to come in at 10am and I would be out in 30 minutes. I thought the likely hood of this happening was very low as everything takes longer than anticipated. I was shocked when they finished in twenty minutes! He even gave me two discounts! He was a very kind man. I highly recommend this location because of its wonderful staff and customer service! Thank you Ted and Jeremy!

Kenny Derosiers is a mechanic at pep boys in Williamstown NJ. I came in to get my brakes fixed. I was told by another mechanic that I need brakes and rotors for my vehicle, which is a lot of money. Took my car to Pep Boys and Joe who is the store manager took care of the pricing. They re-surfaced my rotors saving hundreds. The brakes are wonderful. Kenny who attended the vehicle was very thorough and you can tell he loves his job. Due to this great experience, I am taking my car here for all the work that needs to be done. Give Pep Boys a try, and if you dont like it, write a review yourself.

I had to replace my tires on my vehicle on an out of town trip. With no delays, I was able to get my car in and out in less than two hours. Every person I dealt with in that service center was polite, friendly, and courteous. Joe, the person I spoke with on the phone, was happier than someone should be early on a Saturday morning, and he woke me from my stupor. I was almost excited about replacing 4 tires! Do yourself a favor, and shop here anytime you need service on your vehicle. I would definitely come back (if I lived closer). I may even make the drive...

I made an appointment for a large company vehicle to get a tire changed. They assured me that they could handle the job. After giving them the year make and model of the vehicle they still reassured me that they could do it. After showing up on time for my appointment they told me that there wasnt a way to jack the truck up. So now the company vehicle is down with another day wasted. This is moderately detrimental to a small business with people counting on this vehicle. Thanks a lot pep boys.
