Doughnuts are great but service could be better. I went there last time with three dollars in quarters knowing I was going to buy three doughnuts. It took me about 30 seconds to get the whopping three dollars out of my pocket for my order. In the mean time, with customers waiting behind me the girl behind the counter, maybe assumed I did not have the full amount of money for my purchase for what ever reason. The reason why is because she told me it was okay if I did not have the money for all the doughnuts. Patience could have helped in this situation because every customer does not like feeling rushed or unimportant. I felt like that is something you do not say to customers, it is rude and indicates the employee thinks you are too poor to buy three doughnuts. I politely said I do and thank you for the doughnuts. Customer service 101 come on people and roll tide.

Im not entirely sure whats going on here but the last two times I went to Sesame Donuts, I wound up walking out because nobody could be bothered to help me. During the most recent incident I watched a guy walk out of the back, get something off the counter and completely ignore the two people who had been standing in line before us before walking back into the kitchen. The people he ignored had told me that theyd been waiting "a long time". I wont deny the donuts here are VERY good (as are the muffins) but it seems like a shift in management has taken place and it is NOT for the better. Ive been coming here since I was four years old and likely will no longer return since the customer service has taken such a sudden and unexpected dive.

I worked at a bookstore in Beaverton and commuted right past Sesame for a year or so. My carpool would take turns buying donuts every Friday to share with our co-workers. The staff at Sesame got to know us and was always super friendly. The owner was always really great with my younger cousin when she was little and ten years later shes still a loyal customer. The donuts are as good as the staff. They are my favorite in the Northwest, and that includes amongst the famous Portland and Seattle shops that everyone from out of town goes out of their way to visit when they are in the area. Plus, they are WAY less expensive that those shops. No $40 dozen here.

Had a relatively poor experience here. Im new in the neighborhood and stopped in for some wifi and a quick bite. After ordering I asked for the wifi password but the cashier said she didnt have a pen. She complained that it was too long to tell me so I told her Id put it in my phone. But she said it quickly before Id even grabbed my phone. When I asked her to repeat it she said she didnt have all day and started to talk to the person in line behind me. The bagel Iordered wasnt warmed through and my doughnut wasnt that great either. I am not sure what made the cashier so kurt and short with me. I dont plan on going back.

The donuts are good here and there is a nice variety, but the service leaves quite a bit to be desired. Ive come on multiple occasions to purchase 2 to 3 dozen for teams at work and had very different experiences each time. Once I was told I should call ahead so I didnt wipe them out, another I was served no problem, and yet another was asked to wait mid order so that a number of smaller orders could go through. It seems like this place provides a nice experience for regulars, but not for the casual stop in. I have had much better luck at the scholls ferry location.

Sesame is the most friendly donut shop I have been in, and the same can be said for all locations. Their donuts are the freshest I have ever tried, and I believe could beat voodoos any day of the week. That being said, sesame is a very traditional shop with fritters, old fashioned, maple bars etc. So if youre looking for an edible oddity, try another location. Additionally, prices at this store are more then reasonable, with a dozen donuts costing less then 10 dollars. Overall, give sesame a try if you get the chance. You will not be dissapointed.

About as dry and stiff as a sesame seed...donuts and staff. I read several comments about this place stating that these donuts are great. One comment said this was Dunkin Donuts replacement. That should have been reason enough to NOT go. Theres a reason Dunkin is NOT on the west coast. Dunkin, as well as Sesame are pretty bland, especially the pumpkin. The cream filled and apple fritter werent too bad, but may as well go to any other donut shop in that case. Theyre not cheap, they are average priced. Im sticking with Krispy Kreme.

As a business owner, I appreciate good service, and admire anyone that can hold a family business together. As a teenager in a 49 yr old body, I appreciate great doughnuts, pastries, and any baked goods that contain sugar. This place is the center of the universe for great doughnuts - especially the Portland Creme, and great smoothies - Peach and Mango are my favs. Ive never been disappointed with this find establishment, and am so glad they are opening up some locations in Tigard off 99 and Scholls Ferry. Yah!

Terrible customer service at this location. I have been at this location multiple times and the woman working nights can barely understand a thing you say to her. She didnt give me the apple fritter I ordered at first. Then the sandwich I ordered was made wrong. She proceeded to imply it was my fault with a smirk on her face. Wanted to contact the office about this experience, but it looks like they are not interested enough in their customers experience to post any kind of feedback contact on their website.

Generally nice people and really good donuts. Its the only place in Portland I can get a REAL vanilla cream donut. They have chocolate cream, as well. They also have mini versions of big things like apple fritters. I appreciate that. They also have some unique offerings. Theyre good quality, the dough is a little more on the solid/heavier side, as opposed to Annies super light and fluffy take on things. I highly recommend Sesame.

Their donuts are pretty good. Not the best, but if youre just looking for some fresh donuts for the family in the morning, this is a great place if youre nearby. They lose points for a complete lack of enthusiasm though. The staff looks as though they hate being there and could quit at the drop of a hat. They have zero interest in doing anything but filling your box and shoving you out as quickly as possible.

An absolute disappointment. Im 99% certain the donuts sold on the Saturday morning I was there were a day old. The espresso was all pre-grinded as well. For someone that only splurges on donuts and sticks to a healthy regime, this was a total waste of an experience. Now I can actually justify high-priced Blue Star or line waiting at VooDoo. At least they care about what theyre doing.

Love the donuts, service not the best. Person working tonight was rude and made me feel rushed, to top it off she put a donut I did not ask for in the box. I was purchasing a half dozen. I picked out 5 then she shut the box when I asked if that was six , she said yes. Looks like they just put what THEY want in the box. I will avoid at all cost when I know this person is working.
