I really enjoyed strolling through part of the Portland Downtown and river area at the Saturday Market. The weather was also perfect for checking out all the arts and crafts kiosks as well as the drink and food trucks/tents. I wish we had something like this back in Houston. There is also live music from a variety of artists and there is plenty of places to sit and just enjoy the view and people watch. There is a variety of delicious yet inexpensive eats to choose from, and I DO recommend trying the Elephant Ears if youve never had them. The sugary pastry can get a little sticky and messy, but its so worth it! Plus they give you hand wipes to clean up afterwards. After enjoying the Saturday market, you can stroll up and down the park alongside the river along with everyone else. Definitely a very cool outdoor affair!

Awesome place, Im visiting my cousins for a week. For food I got fruit cream soda (peach) and a Marionberry elephant ear. Together it cost 9 dollars which wasnt bad considering how big the elephant ear was (an added plus is it was vegan). Great quality, and a must try, is definitely Portlands Original Elephant Ears vending stand. Also FriendsofBree is an awesome handmade doll shop loved the kind of creepy but cute vibe also the vendor was awesome. And lastly definitely go check out the clay goblin wall decor vender(didnt catch the shop name) I bought a little red monster to put in my room for 16 bucks. Great shop and the lady who runs it is super friendly. If youre in Portland definitely go check out the Saturday market I go every time Im up in Oregon.

Lots of amazing stands to check out from natural soaps, art, clothing, food, and more. If you go before the week of Christmas I believe its everyday as opposed to weekly. They have more stalls down the street as well. My favorite was Rileys Soaps! They have a cool place to sit down with heaters and a little stand for live performances as well. Information booth is closely to the cross walk. Would recommend checking out if given the opportunity. Ive got to mention that behind there was a pretty big homeless community and it may be off-putting when next to such a nice little market place.

Visiting Portland Saturday Market is always a great experience. All the vendors are required to sell only locally made merchandise (that is the vendors closest to the water/Naito Parkway). I love all the pottery. There are also a lot of neat clothing and decor items made from recycled products. There are also photographers, painters and jewelry makers. Giving oneself a few hours to just walk and browse the booths is a treat. It gets pretty busy after lunch hour. There are usually many well behaved pups on leash.

The Saturday Market is pretty large, so it can take some time to have a look through. The wares are pretty varied, as is the range of food available from all the food carts (though there is a slight over-abundance of Elephant Ear vendors). Theres also live music! You could probably whip through here in under an hour, but set aside maybe two to four hours to properly have a look through and maybe have a walk by the riverside. Youll probably end up needing to rest once or twice as you go through.

As always a quirky Portland experience full of art, food, beer and music. Probably one of the few places that you can eat fresh fruit while watching a rock band of shamans play a guitar and a didgeridoo. Bring walking shoes and an umbrella in the winter. Insiration, cash, and credit cards are artists best friends. There are plenty of locally designed tee shirts to pick from as well as jewelry and other wearable art. Face painting and balloons can make a kids day!

Portland Saturday Market is great to support local artist in Portland! In order to be have a booth at the market you must make your own items! Great vendors who are all truly unique and gifted artists. Variety of crafts, art pieces, plants, health tonics, soaps, photography, jewelry, knifes, furniture, hot sauces and more! Great food vendors with music playing and Rogue brewery serving beer. Great for tourist and people visiting or even locals too. Cheers!

While visiting downtown Portland my family walked over to the Saturday Market which was full of craft vendors and food trucks. Just your usual hand crafted stuff (jewelry, wood carvings, etc). Nothing too unique in my opinion. Most of it was way overpriced for what it was. Typical carnival/State Fair foods at the food trucks. In hindsight, I would have skipped this event and checked out the Farmers Market at PSU (where they have fresh produce and fruit).

Girlfriend took me to the market this weekend and after the problem of finding a parking place, we had a great time. There are many different food booths, some good, some not. Its really a bunch of food carts that I would guess are somewhere else the rest of the week. Lots of booths selling goods, with a rather strange large number selling cutting boards. We bought a catnip toy which the cat loved. Will definitely go back

The best open air market this side of the Rockies. Almost as good as Camden Locks street side market, thats in England. Ive been there too, I should know. Oh yeah, have some food while you are there, its also delicious, and nutritious. Yummy, and sometimes there is even a local band playing. Check the weather forecast, though from your house first. Theres no use coming down without an umbrella when its raining. :)

I love going to the SATURDAY MARKET! See portlands best and worst all within a 4block radius from the Skidmore Fountain. From arts&crafts to trinkets, incense& gadgets. It can be spendy& crowded, with plenty of "locals" sitting about, but this is one of Portlands best sunny day activities. If you havent been to the Saturday market yet then you MUST try it at least once. Portland...keepin it weird! lol

We love going here to get high quality hand-made gifts for people. We also usually bring family and friends here when they visit from out of state as a fun event. Even if you dont get anything, it can be fun to browse. We usually run over to the farmers market at Portland State University afterward to grab our weekly vegetables and more local goods while were downtown.

Its the world famous Portland Saturday market !!!! Ive been coming for over 20 years and it has grown and improved. Its very much full of hippies, hipsters and "free spirits" it can be very crowded and smelly but I never felt " unsafe" . Lots of homemade nic-nacs and junk . Maybe if you have out of Towners visiting bring them here for the Portlandia experience.

A great place to check out local goods and art from area artists and vendors. If you are looking to buy handmade, unique gifts, this is where you should check out! They have a decent selection of food carts and vendors as well, although they do tend to get busy. Whenever a friend visits from out of town, I take them here to show them a little of Portland.

This is a unique Portland experience that is right downtown near the waterfront on the west side. It happens every Saturday during the year except for in the winter. Given its location it kind of feel touristy but after a bit of time there, you get a sense that most of the people at the Saturday Market actually live in the area.
