This review is for the store in Richmond, Canada Two months ago, we (me and my wife) went to the JR Furniture store in Richmond, Canada looking for a sideboard. We found one that we really liked. The floor model was all dusty and dirty but the salesman ensured us that they had new one in the warehouse so we proceeded with order and payment. A week latter the sideboard was delivered. Wow, that was fast... But there is where all about good shopping experience ends.. It was dirty, full of dust, with spider webs. We even got a couple of spiders with it! OK... we were ready to clean it and keep it, but then noticed that on the top of the dirt, dust,spider webs and spiders, it was damaged. We called the store and on request, we sent the photos of the damage. We got reply that the new piece will be ordered and delivered. And then saga of our never ending-calls and their never-ending lies and promises that a new sideboard is on its way and will be delivered next week, starts and has not finished yet! After number of calls and messages, sales person, Kuldeep, directed us to talk to the store manager, called Sam (or dearly called Sammy by other reviewer). Sam, or Sammy, of course, ignores all our calls. Did I mention that this story started 2 months ago, and has not finished yet? Btw I tried to contact the central using "Contact Us" form and phone, but neither works (the phone is not available in Canada???) Bottom line - HUGE disappointment and frustration. This company is pure example how the business should not be done and how customers should not be treated. They deserve 10 black stars (I wish they are supported). Save yourself time and go somewhere else!!!! After all, they just sell furniture made by others and whatever you can find there you can certainly find in some other store with decent customer support and where they will really treat you as customer deserves!

To anyone who is looking for furniture I am begging you heed my warning, go someplace else. If you value your time and money, go anywhere else. It all started on January 10 when we were looking at purchasing a new couch. We went to a couple other places and ended up at Jr. They were twenty dollars cheaper in their price for the same couch. We should have listened to the reviews we read on yelp but we didnt. Jack was our sales guy and through out the whole experience I felt like he didnt care at all. We placed our order on January 10 and put half of the payment down. Jack told us the couch would be ready for pick up in 4-6 weeks. 4-6 weeks pass and we hear nothing from Jack or JR. I decided to give them a call to see what was happening. I was informed that they were busy and would give me a call back. We receive no phone call so I call back a couple of days later and then get informed that the couch was not ready and that there was a mix up and the order for my couch was not put in until week four of our waiting period. Jack informed me that they put in a new rush order and should take a week or two. By this time it is week 8 and we finally get a call from them telling us it is ready for us to pick up. Well now we are on vacation and cannot come in until the middle of March. When we go in to pay and receive our couch, we are then informed, after we pay the remaining balance, that our couch was damaged in the wearhouse a weak ago and that they need to get it fixed. We were never informed of the couch being damaged. The only time we received a phone call from Jack or JR was when they wanted more money out of us. They never seemed apologetic. Working with this company was a 5-week long nightmare of being tossed around, mis-lead, and lied to. We were told our furniture would be delivered the following week, and it wasnt. Then when it finally was, it was only half of the furniture. When we called to find out why, they seemed oblivious to what pieces were missing. Continued calls and visits to the store over the next five weeks lead to them saying they would check on things and call back (but never once actually called back), saying our pieces would be on the next delivery every week (which didnt happen), and talking to a different person each time. No one knew what was going on, no one remembered our situation each time we had to check in about it, and no one gave us any hope, they just told us whatever would get us to go away. When our last piece finally came in, we had to go pick it up, even though we paid for delivery. When we got there, it took forever for them to find it in their messy warehouse. When they did find it, the box was open and had obviously been gone through and messed with, and not repackaged whatsoever. Since all the parts were still there, we took it and left. We will never be back. The furniture is good, but that is thanks to the companies that made the furniture, not JR.

Horrible experience with this place. Excuse after excuse on why things werent delivered on time, mirror I got was damaged and did a butcher repair job, another piece (nightstand) the top was ripped off and bolts stripped out but didnt realize it until weeks later when I tried to move it. After repeated attempts to get issue resolved or purchase refunded I just contested the credit card charges. Now I know why they have a D rating with the Better Business Bureau and horrible reviews on Yelp too. No clue how they have a decent rating here. Buyer beware!! EDIT: Im also amused at how the respond to every compliment and complaint on here. Ive got a suggestion for you, why dont you promptly return phone calls over issues instead of ignoring them? Your customer service is almost non-existent when any sort of problem or issue arises. I couldnt tell you how many times I was promised a call back to resolve the issue which honestly could have easily been fixed with some honesty on your part but instead my calls were never returned or ignored.

Bought living room set on presidents day weekend. Was assured that the unit was a wall hugger but the loveseat is not since it rocks. Was told they would arrange a technician out to remove the rocking mechanism. It has been almost 5 months now. No technician, assistant manager wont return my call.i would refer anybody to think about the lack of customer service before buying here. Thank you for the reply but we have contacted your store on several occasions. The last time we were provided with your contractor who would remove the rocking mechanism. Left him 2 voicemails. And surprise, no call back from him either. We are coming up on a year of having this furniture and you have yet to make it right. You have my phone number on file as we purchased from you. I will attempt one last time of making it right! Lets see uf you hold your word

We moved here from Colorado after buying a new home. I have almost an entire home to furnish. I decided to check this place out because they carry all of the Stanton furniture brand. I worked with Ryan and he helped me pick out the perfect living room set, complete with custom fabrics. He gave me the absolute best deal by far of any competing furniture store in the area. He understood my budget restrictions and has been super helpful at every point of the process...even after I paid. The third party delivery service they use is awesome too! I couldnt be anymore please with this entire purchase experience. Im definitely going to be a loyal JR Furniture customer. Going to use them to furnish my entire home!
