My girlfriend and I wanted a small bite and a pint and heard this was a neat place. We found a high top outside with one stool clearly sitting at the table. We proceeded to grab the matching stool. Following that a man came out, without any form of pleasantries, starting the conversation with "so you folks are just helping yourself to the furniture" in an extremely obnoxious tone. He followed that by "do you want to eat anything or are you just here for a drink"? My girlfriend and I felt quite disrespected and also enamoured that someone would speak to someone else like that, especially a customer. We could also hear people inside talking about how it didnt seem right that we moved a stool. The folks at this place should probably chill out- it gave us a very unwelcoming vibe. We actually got up and left for obvious reasons. After reading a few other reviews I heard the server is just an all around breath of fresh air to everyone that comes in.. Good luck.

WORST dinning experience of my life. Food and drinks were fine, but the staff was horrible. Very ill mannored, and rude. They treat their customers like trash. Took a while to get our food. We could see other people who sat and order long after us get their food before us. Our waiter purposely made us wait 20 minutes for our checks; heard him tell a fellow employee. Laughed at us and when we voiced our concern to the manager he blow us off like it wasnt a big deal. Other people witnessed and ended up leaving because of it. I still have no idea why he treated us so poorly but it was very upsetting. Will never go there again. And I will not recommend it to anyone ever. I still cant believe how rude our waiter was. But after reading other reviews now, it sounds like its a reoccurring problem. The owner and staff should be embarrassed by the way they treat their paying customers.

What an interesting Cannon Beach icon! About 10 years ago it opened as a predominately hard ware store with a 2 tap-beer counter and a small TV tuned into the few sports channels available on cheap cable. The hardware items sold slowly while the beer sales were popular. Over the years, the owners saw that TV sports viewers abounded in Cannon Beach. So, they started removing hardware shelves and replacing them with tables where patrons could drink more beer along with burgers. They expanded upstairs, adding even more beer taps, tables, larger menu, and more TVs. Now, the place advertises itself as the "Screw and Brew" joint. The menu is quite good, as is its food; their salads are scrumptious. Its popularity now is based on the pub portion. Lines are short, which helps those who dont want to wait in line for 30 minutes at the Pelican Brew Pub only 1 block to the south.

Went in for the novelty of getting drinks and grub in a little seaside hardware store; still left disappointed. Beer on tap was fine (Except... they have Hamms on TAP? I have never seen that before. Because who would order it?), but my party ordered several sangrias that were literally flavorless. Our guess is that they were made with a splash of actual sangria (There was one piece of sangria-infused fruit that managed to make it into one of our three glasses) and then filled up with soda water. Mind you, these were $7 a pop. It was like a cruel magic trick, to take a swig of it and then be confused because it tastes like water. Sorry, Screw & Brew Crew -- we felt much too screwed.

If youre not white, skip this joint. The old guy was very racist with us. We wrote our name on the waiting list and whenever the guy asked who we were on the list, he then proceeded to ignore us until he seated all the white customers. After that, he told us to find a seat in the back patio and to drink the leftover beer that was there while just throwing the menus on the table. So much ignorance.

This is a cool place. Even though Ive been coming to the beach multiple times a year for 25 years, I never knew this place existed. You can definitely a locals hang out. Everyone knew everyone by name and what they were drinking. We spent some time chatting with the woman who runs the place. Cool lady, makes great drinks and the prices arent bad either. Well be stopping here often!

Solid spot to pick up a drink and hardware. I tell you this is a fun spot in which only a small beach town can pull off. These guys are pretty nice and the location is pretty great. Right next to the best coffee shop in the US, Sleepy Monk. Grab a drink and sit out on the street and watch the cars roll by.

Small with crude furnishings. Wait staff extremely rude...and nasty. Do not waste your money. Plenty of other places in town with better atmosphere.
