The one star is for the staff, nice people, helpful and not pushy. But run away from Ashley and use a locally based store because after you purchase if there is an issue you are stuck working with corporate in New York. And they could not care less. The local manager even said we could talk to him but he cant do anything. We bought a dresser off the floor last year that was beautiful, nicely priced, no issues. It might be because it was a floor model and from other reviews they might be higher quality. So we went back in January for a kitchen table. It was delivered end of January, at the beginning of May we noticed a bubbling up of the finish. I dont know how long it was like that maybe since delivery. We called customer service and the problems began. The staff is very robotic, making the same statements over and over whether I called or my wife. All 3 representatives started with blaming the victim "how did you clean it?" Well it is a kitchen table so a little dribble of something was wiped off with a damp cloth, just crumbs? a dry one. They seriously said it can only be dusted and that was on the tag. We still have the tag and it says nothing about how to clean it but its a kitchen table! Really? we are going to dust it? Then they said they cant help because we didnt buy the extended warranty! Which to me is extortion, the thing is only 3 months old, theres just the 2 of us. Imagine a family with children. There is a 1 yr warranty but bubbling veneer is apparently a "use" issue not a "manufacturing" problem. The wood veneer wasnt sealed correctly is the truth, the glass in the middle doesnt fit tightly like the ones in the store. Its defective, clearly. We bought bedroom furniture the same day so thats been cancelled. She did out of "courtesy" waive the 12% cancellation fee. So nice of you. The bottom line is they do not stand behind their products. If you cant work with the store staff when something is defective, forget it. We will go back to shopping locally owned where they send out a technician when you complain and they fix it. i have no idea what to do with this table, it will just continue over time to bubble. But for now I will continue to write reviews and save others from this hassle.

This is to describe my experience with Ashley Services. Everyone in the Mentor store that we worked with were great and far exceed the level of service that the rest of the company holds standard. Here is my experience with Ashley Homestore Services: I am incredibly disappointed in the service that I received with Ashley. I built a new house and went to Ashley to purchase a living room set, kitchen bar stools, and a dining room table set. I made this purchase a few months before moving into the new home so that when our home was ready we would also have furniture. We were originally told that our table would not be ready until a month after the rest of our purchases. However, yesterday I got a call to discuss the damage on our table that was going to be delivered today (no one called to tell us that the delivery date of our table had changed and that it would actually arrive with the rest of our purchases). Anyways, they called to tell us that our table was damaged and asked if we still wanted it..... We had to request to see the able table before we made this decision. The table arrive and it was indeed damaged... in multiple locations. However, I fully purchased this table months ago and was not about to wait another few months for a new table to get delivered. We accepted the delivery and immediately called support. We requested that someone come out and service the damage on the table and that we get reimbursed for having to accept a damaged table and the inconveniences that it causes. Well NO... Ashley doesnt do both. Its one or the other... Have someone come TRY to fix it with no guarantee it will look decent in the end, or keep it as is and get a very small discount..... How is it that they screw up my table and Im left no good options to proceed? Why should I have to pay full price for damaged table even if they are able to "hide" the damage? Why should I have to wait another few months to get a table I paid full price for months ago if I want a perfect table? This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had. No one was willing to help or work with us. Not to mention 1 bar stool and 1 chair wobble because they have uneven leg heights.

Note...if you do not wish to read this whole story: Go to Ashley in Mentor, and ask for Mandy McElroy. You will have the most positive experience possible while furniture shopping when you could be watching a Cavs game, and might even enjoy it a little bit. My girlfriend and I were recently assisted by Mandy McElroy. We purchased a couch, and learned that it would not fit upon delivery to our apartment. While the purchasing experience was AWESOME, the delivery was not. The movers had an incorrect address, and I had to help them navigate their way to our complex, where they learned we lived on the 3rd floor. From there, they disagreed with one another whether or not the couch would fit or not. Ultimately, the crew leader won out and our couch went back on the truck after a minimal amount of effort trying to maneuver the couch in, and quite a bit of grumbling about how sales people only care about commissions. We returned to Ashley in Mentor to try and pick out something else, and were greeted by Mandy almost instantly. She was visibly bothered by our situation, as we were both quite upset. From there, she very kindly helped us pick out something we liked even more, and was able to keep our price similar. If you are fortunate enough to work with her, you will leave Ashley with a nice piece of furniture, and a great attitude! All in all, this review gets 5 stars. Mandy, and the management team at Ashley earned the high rating. Mandy turned a very unpleasant situation into a very enjoyable one with her humor, compassion, professional attitude, and her willingness to help us out. The delivery team left quite a bit to be desired with their unprofessionalism, lack of effort, and the overall negative perspective they gave about Ashley Furniture. Hopefully when the new piece gets delivered, we have a much better experience!

Fairly disappointed with the dining room table, chairs, and bar stools that we got from Ashley. The table had damage to the leg, table top, and slight delamination on the side of the table. We are hoping the repairman can fix these, but it shouldnt be acceptable for brand new furniture to require a repair before weve used it once. 2 out of the 6 dining room chairs and 1 out of the 3 bar stools wobble and required a shim under one of the legs to get them to lay flat. We were also frustrated by the fact that the delivery men said we would get a reimbursement from Ashley after the repairman came to fix the furniture, but the customer service representative we called made it very clear she would not compensate us for the damage and inconvenience of having to reschedule our work schedules to make time for the repairman to come. Having to deal with all of this while moving a family into a new house does not make me confident that I will ever want to purchase through Ashely again. I never had this issue when working through Levins. On the bright side, the couch made it in one piece and looks great! This helped them salvage the 2nd star. Update: Well, its been over a month and we still have a damaged table. The repairman came and wasnt able to do anything, so they ordered a new table for us. The new one then came damaged, so we have been waiting to hear back on when they will try again to ship another. I almost feel bad for Ashley for how much money it must cost them to have such a struggle to ship un-damaged furniture!
