Service Training is definitely needed at the Toledo store. I’ve been an American Freight Fan for years, using Mansfield and Mentor Ohio Stores. this was my first chance to shop in the Toledo Store, as i just moved to Toledo September 1st. 3 weeks ago i went to the store to purchase a mattress, a sales person explained to me the different options, i finally selected the Perfect Care 3000. it happened to not be in stock, and i was looking to purchase that day. He offered to order for me, but could not promise delivery in less than 30 days, although he reassured me it would probably be less. He tried to sell me lesser mattresses for less, but offered no price match on the next level up, to make the sale that day. I ended up leaving. Fast forward 3 weeks, and I see a Sale Paper ad for the Perfect Care 3000. Since I had not purchased anything yet, I saw this as a sign that THIS WAS THE ONE. So i returned to the store. With sale paper in hand i told the sales person (different one from the time before) what I was looking for. He showed me the 3000 and the price was exactly the same. When i asked about the sales ad, he abruptly explained to me that American Freight is a wholesale warehouse, and the price is the price. So, i said fine. I will take a king. While walking over to check inventory, he asked if i need a frame, i asked how much, he said, $89.00. Wow i thought, that’s a lot, so i declined. He then told me the mattress was not in stock (again) and that hed have one in less than 2 weeks. Ok, i said, i will take it. He then told me i had to purchase a mattress cover in order to Keep my Warrantee from being voided. I asked how much, he said: $79.00. I said No. He then explained to me, in his best kindergarten inflection, that by not buying the mattress cover, should the mattress fail at any point of the 10 years, and i had a stain on it, it would not be covered by the warrantee. First of all, i am not sure what sorts of stains he is assuming i will leave on my new mattress, but should my mattress fail for a reason covered by the warrantee, then regardless of the stains it should be covered. He then asked me if id like to have this delivered, i asked well, how much is that? To which he answered $60. I said: Wow, you guys nickel and dime everything. Again, in his "explanation voice" he said, it is a 3rd party company, you pay them directly, its not us. Overall, I ordered what I wanted, and I paid as much as i expected before i saw the sale ad, so not a total loss, but the feeling that i would return, considering that spending over $600 got me treated badly, not once, but twice.... Not likely.. At least at the Toledo store.

I went in on Friday, 8/26/16, found a dining room set, living room table set, and bedroom set that I loved. I was informed that some of it was not in stock and that they would have to order it. I immediately asked how long it takes for it to get in and informed them when I was moving, which was Thursday the following week on the 1st of September. They told me that they have trucks come in all the time and it should not take long, probably not by the 1st but it will come in. I said that was fine, I understand. I gave it till Wednesday, 9/7/16. I called in and asked for an update on my order, the gentleman tried to tell me "he told him that it would be about 2-4 weeks". I quickly responded informing him that he did NOT tell ME that. Without him being the person who rung me up, he did not know that the the order was under my others name, not mine, but I was the one who paid and was the one there with him. I gave it another week and called, same thing happened. I have yet to receive my items because they are still waiting on a dresser. I paid $1300 and at the time I had made arrangements for my furniture to be picked up, even considering it might take 2 weeks, even though I was NOT informed that it could take that long. SO, now that I have waited over a month, my bed has been on the floor and I have no dining room set, they still are trying to charge me an additional $69 to deliver to my house which is ONLY 4 minutes away. After waiting over a month, at this point I am livid at the fact that they can tell me I can pick up some of my order now, and the rest later. Having to make 2 trips, and having to pay to rent a vehicle to deliver my furniture, I am outraged. Whether I paid them the $69 or another person to deliver my furniture. If I knew this was going to take place I would NOT have spent around $1300 there. They can not even offer to remove the delivery fee because of this inconvenience and misinformed information. On top of that, being called a liar, saying I was informed something I WAS NOT, kind of enrages me. I have no reason to lie when it comes to money I SPENT. Working in customer service you can not tell at all, because obviously once they get your money, they do not care to deliver what you bought.

I have some concerns about the honesty of the sales reps. I put a couch and loveseat on layaway last month, paying them off about 3 weeks ago. I was told they would call me when they came in - and then never heard from them again. Im a philanthropic person, but Im not into paying $800 for furniture that I never see. I called to ask about it, and told the person on the phone my name, which he didnt ask me to spell (which is very strange, since I know for a fact he wouldnt have gotten it on the first try), then told me he was going to check the system. I didnt hear typing at all through any of this. I was told that I could arrange for delivery that weekend, but when I called back to do this, nobody answered the phone. It looks like an in-person visit is in order, which will either end in furniture, a refund, or a lawsuit.

Went in to buy furniture found stuff we liked and they told us it was out of stock. I asked how long it normally took and was told they get trucks in everyday so it could be in a couple days. Called back 4 days later and still nothing but then was told 2-4 weeks or I could come back and try and find something different. I live 50 miles away so didnt want to drive back. I still have yet to get my furniture or even a call not to mention if it wasnt for my daughter having to go to the bathroom the guy wouldve shorted me $30. I will not go back to the Toledo store I will go back to Ft. Wayne as I didnt have any issues when I went there
