This place is great if the employee is behind the counter, not the owner. One occasion I spent $15 on 2 wireless ps2 controllers. When I got home they didnt work. I called and he said to bring them in. He gave me 2 controllers that were priced at $15 EACH. When those didnt work, he let me exchange for a $20 game for my trouble. When I bought 3 original XBOX games ($5 each or 3 for $10), 2 of them were no longer backwards compatable with the 360. The same employee let me bring those 2 back and gave me $5 credit each for them. Do the math and youll see how that made me happy! On another occassion, I bought some generic PS1 double capacity memory cards, which did not work in my ps2. I forgot about it, but remembered and mentioned it to him about a month later. He remembered the purchase, and without even a reciept or asking for the cards back, he gave me a loaner Sony brand memory card to use till I could bring the other cards back. That worked, and the next day I exchanged the defective cards for working ones, no reciept and well beyond their return policy. These were the only issues Ive ever had on my MANY MANY visits, and they were all handled exceptionally. I give them 4 stars because if the female owner is there, she does have her kids in the store and it can be distracting. Also, they need to invest in an air conditioner for the summer. Still, its great to have more than just the exchange for vintage games, and the employee really knows his stuff. One of my favorite shops! Word to the wise: if you ask, they will test out used games and systems in the store before you buy. And dont be suprised when they offer you a lower price for your stuff than they would sell for, this is the nature of the resale business

Awful. came in looking for an S-Video cable for the SNES, both the people behind the counter had no clue what I was even talking about, lady looked like a deer in headlights and was bewildered that S-Video wasnt the "yellow red white" cable as she called it (Its RCA, by the way.) Didnt even try to look to see if they had it and gave a carefree and effortless response so she could get back to watching her kid play a game, last time Ill be in. More interestingly however, was the pricing on just about anything. Popular games are basically 40% more expensive than they are anywhere else and the best part is no refunds, but store credit! Hooray! If your game doesnt work you can buy other games that presumably dont work because they dont test them! Even on eBay you can get your money back if something doesnt work, and you pay way less so its arguably worth the wait, pathetic. My biggest gripe is games that arent that popular and in shoddy condition, STILL overpriced and more than youd pay anywhere else, CD based games that are all scratched up with no manual? They just eBay the price of one in proper condition with the manual, throw $5-10 extra on it and call it a day. Its just a waste of time even being in there, it always feels awkward when they ask "Can I help you?" a dozen times, gawking at you for a good 5-10 minutes after youve explained youre just looking. Stick to online shopping or even The Exchange if you really want something fast and dont mind paying more, not worth the hassle or supporting a business with such bad practices and employees who are not only clueless on numerous products and topics, but simply dont care.

This place is horrible. I give it one star and thats being generous. This place deserves zero or negative stars. I went and bought a used N64 with Goldeneye and Super Mario Kart. Way overpriced, with just those 3 items the total came to $75. What a joke. Little did I know going into this place that there is a NO CASH REFUND policy. When I got home and plugged it in to play it yep you guessed it, it doesnt work. I called back and told them my system didnt work and they told me to take a Q-tip to the games and system and it will work fine. First off if your going to sell a used system of any kind wouldnt you think about cleaning it at all so it will work and possibly look nice? I did just that and it still wasnt working. I went back to the store and they tested it there and still no dice, it doesnt work. The lady looked at me so badly when I said it didnt work and, they bombarded me with questions on why Im returning it and why I didnt want it. They sold me an overpriced system that didnt even work. I tried to get my money back and they refused to give it back to me. The lady after being done seeing that it didnt work complained to the other employee that it wasnt tested. What a waste of my money, time, and effort. Dont give them your business they will sell you faulty items that dont work and cant be refunded. If your considering buying anything from there you might as well just flush your money down the toilet. Cause thats essentially the service and products you get for your money over there.

I came here just last week not knowing much about vintage video games. I went in wanting a Nintendo system whether that have been an NES, SNES, or N64. The man working there was very helpful and gave off an informal setting, which made me feel more relaxed about what I was about to buy. He was giving me sincere recommendations and I really appreciated it. They were asking $50 for an NES with one controller. Yes, I was warned that that was a little expensive. I was perusing eBay and found an NES for $35 with two controllers. I told the guy that, because I was buying 3 games, and that there was one on eBay cheaper than what they were asking, that I would give him $40 for the NES with two controllers. The guy generously accepted my offer and I asked to test the system in store before buying it. Needless to say, it worked an I bought it! I absolutely love the machine and ended up going back to buy more games. I would say though that they could do a better job of cleaning the systems.

Ill give them 1 star for having really hard to find titles, but this place is horrible. I went to buy an overpriced copy of Super Mario Kart, and took it home. After seeing it didnt work, I gently rubbed a Q-tip to get any dirt out from the cartridge. Still no dice. I took it back and the lady gave me a ton of attitude. Apparently I needed to just clean it out (like i did). She tried on her system and it STILL didnt work. Then she went and grabbed another copy. I also asked how much would they be willing to pay for my SNES (condition: VERY good) and she told me $10 and $15 in trade. Thats including everything! Anyone with a brain knows thats highway robbery. Id sell it to them for $10 while they flip it for $60 at least! Dont go here, might as well goto The Exchange where titles arent as expensive and condescending as this hole in the wall.

Ive been to James games a couple of times, first was to buy a used gameboy color. The b button was sticky so I went back with low expectations to see if I could get s refund, theres no cash refund) but they gave me another game boy, for free, charger, full functioning, and everything. They even let me keep the other one which works to a decent level. Lay night I went to buy a copy of cod bo2, it was priced at twenty five- thirty bucks. Luckily the guy there recognized that it was overpriced and I took it off his hands for twenty. Either he realized it was a bad deal, or he was happy because it was his birthday. Theyve got older games for prices worth the fun, like WAW for 15 bucks. Some will argue that was a bad deal, but I got much more than my moneys worth out of that game.
