One of my favorite stops while in Charlotte. An actual retro gaming store that deals in just retro games. Imagine that? Save Point was our 2nd retro stop of the day and things were about to start looking up. 1st thing when you walk in the door you some odd looking arcade machines? Why are they odd looking? Because theyre from Japan. Theyre designed so you can sit down and enjoy your game. In addition there was a head to head unit that had a street fighter type game so you and your opponent could right in real time on the same machine. It was really cool. Once we moved Beyond the arcade games youll come across several rows of classic arcade content. NES, SNES and N64. Sega Master and Genesis, PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox 1 & 360, and more. In the back there was a case that had some higher dollar items in it. Thats where I found my 1st big catch of the day. In the display case there was a very nice selection of big ticket N64 games. I honestly could have ended my vacation right then and there and just emptied this place out. However I practiced some restraint and just picked up a Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask with the holographic sticker and a few of other minor carts. Prices were decent to good. Ill definitely be visiting here again next time Im in Charlotte.

Fun staff, VERY well priced games and systems. The selection here is really good if you ask me. If you ever go there you will not be going back to GameStop for a long while. At gamestop, theyve ripped me off plenty of times, however, the staff here knows what theyre doing. My only complaint is, if youre buying a system here, please, for the love of god, have them test it before you leave. I bought a Nintendo 64, without asking them to test it, sure thing, it didnt work when I got home. I returned it, but the staff handled the situation so well, they gave me another one free. Amazing store please give these men money pls

Finally, a video game store that is 1-of-a-kind! Great staff, lots of awesome games that they get in, and not too many sports games. Even sells stuff thats relatively hard to find. The staff know as much as they can about gaming in the 80s and 90s, and even admit that they dont accept some sports games. Theres also a weekend deal where you buy two games and get the cheaper one as a freebie, when I visited I got a few PSX games in good condition. I handpicked the games and scored! Come to Save Point, nerds and gamers, you will NOT be disappointed!

Poor customer service... poor quality.. if they didnt make any money for the day they cant do trade ins for cash???? Poor company should not even offer trade ins if thats the case... I got a ps2 there the game system itself barely worked the games barely worked... but they hit me with its an unfortunate day because they havent made any sales today please explain how is that the customer problem DONT OFFER TRADE INS IF YOU CANT AFFORD IT SAVE POINT GAMES SMHHHHHHH

are you a retro gamer? do you LOVE old video games? ever wanted to see and/or play a super mario pinball machine? do you want a reliable source of old and new games alike? does sonic the hedgehog run fast? if you said yes to any or all of the above, then come to savepoint! you will not be disappointed! until i came to savepoint, i had never seen a treasure trove of video games like this. Angry Video Game Nerd be damned. this place is THE BEST.

Very good prices (not high "retail" prices), great staff, not too much locked behind glass so its fun to browse. Pinball and arcade games are just icing. They check each case for the correct game, check discs for scratches, and had me check when they thought they might have a better condition copy in stock, so Im not going to leave the store with a lemon once I get home. This is my favorite game store since Funcoland.

Do you remember how many hours you spent sitting a foot away from that "big" 30in screen as a kid? Was it Zelda? FF3? Or you and your buddy playing street fighter? No bills to pay, no job to go to. Just being care free and getting lost in the game.... you get that same feeling every time you walk in to Save Point Video Games. Where else can you come to buy your childhood?

Best retro game store in the Carolinas! Top notch customer service and best overall trade deals Ive seen! If you are near Florence, SC or Greensboro, NC dont waste your time, money or trades at Matts Game Exchange! Drive to Charlotte and put them to good use! Excellent selection of repro and homebrew for NES, SNES and Sega Genesis! You cant beat Save Point!

Never gone in without walking out with something - and never had a bad experience either. To be fair, though, Ive never tried to trade anything in, which seems to be where most of the negative reviews come from. Great retro arcade cabinets if you want to kill some time, and a friendly staff to boot.

Great place to visit! They have tvs that allow you play old games. I even tried my first ever Turbografx 16 game. I purchased an NES console, which was refurbished and for a reasonable price. I also found some great games and accessories for it. I will definitely be back when Im in town again.

Childhood memories all in one shop and affordable. Whether you want Mario Kart, smash bros, or you want that old atari, they have it all! Also the fact its owner operated and you get treated right. Jeff is a class act! Thank you for allowing me into save point games. Always a pleasure man!

Amazing store, you cant beat this game store anywhere in North Carolina. This store has extremely good prices and very nice and helpful staff. I bought a Nintendo 64 console here yesterday, and I was completely satisfied with it. I would come here daily if I lived in NC

I give a 5 star because I got a ps4 there and I take it home and it said I was baned and then I go back to save point and they said well find will find a better one so they call us and we went bake to save point and the got me a brand new ps4

Plenty of used games old and new. Picked up super Mario Bros 3 for my NES. Great selection, nice staff. Probably the best place to get retro game in the charlotte metro area. Every other place Ive been has a smaller selection.
