Dont be a female human by yourself when you come in. You will not be addressed unless you have a male of any species in your party (I witnessed this w/4 sets of customers that came in). Not even the second time, when you go back out to your vehicle. Also, dont look like a tourist (if youre pale, or susceptible to burning in this climate, its a dead giveaway); I doubt your money is green enough. Dont ask for assistance once all other male escorted customers have left. The associates will say "I dont know" and go back to their phone instead of saying "I cant recall, but I will help by looking with you!" Also, dont use the card machine that gives you TCG cards for two reasons: one, even if the slot says "Pokemon cards here", it wont always give you Pokemon cards. After $2 worth, $1 was of YGO cards; two, the associate will not care, will not offer a refund, has no control over it, etc. Also, if you ask about a game you are purchasing ("Have you played this? What have you read about this game?"), and youre interrupting the associate from looking at his phone, he will not google an Amazon review for you on said phone that is glued to his hand, or on the computer beside him that has zero logging capabilities of inventory to check for an aforementioned game. He will just say, again, his rote response of "I dont know" instead of the more honest "I dont care." I really hate that I was excited to come to this business after travelling 9 hours for our yearly vacation down here. The fact I had to move the associates soda out of the way to look in the case to read game titles was even worse. Dont worry, guy; I may be a tourist, but I dont have to give you my money again. Im sorry it was such a dreadful experience for you.

Sifting through the bogus reviews and people who are just mad is frustrating, so i thought i would write my own review, for the good of the consumer. Im a local who has been and will continue going to video game trader. Port orange only has a few game stores in town, but i recommend VGT out of any of them. Theres a good selection of games for the retro / nostalgic gamer, and very good prices to boot. Plenty of used items as well, and collectibles galore. Of course, the selling prices arent always good, but in reality, when are they ever? From personal experience, id say youd get about 40-50% in-store credit for each game, or 30-35% in hard cash. Which brings to mind the convenience of selling games. Would you rather A) go to gamestop to sell your games, in which you have to do a mandatory fingerprinting scan at your local police station in order to sell items there, or B) go to VGT and sell your games for a little less than what you wanted. Id choose B any day. One more thing, the employees really arent that bad. The only problem is that jackass mothers with their spoiled kids walk in demanding more money for their kids games. Then they get butthurt when the price isnt right and blame it on the clerk. I believe ive met three people there before, and the three of them are very nice people, and willing to give personal input if asked for it. Just be friendly, and theyll be friendly right back.

There is a fat guy with spiked hair that works there... he is a dirtbag Every1 else there are good employees, but that jackass alone is enough to make anyone hate that store... he will lowball any trade ins you have if his boss isnt there and keep the difference in profit for himself. Very stingy and rude if you ask me, but you didnt so idc what you say. Its pretty sad when you have to go check if some fat nerd is on the clock before you will go to the store with your stuff. And just the fact that 4 employees faked bogus reviews should say enough about how crappy the service there is. Maybe their meathead boss should learn to hire someone a little less greedy. Reviews are to help CUSTOMERS hear from other CUSTOMERS experiences with the store, not what some dorky employees two cents is. Needs new management if they chose to hire that moron

my son wanted to trade in his ds because i gave him my PSP since i wasnt using it anymore and we went to our usual game spot EB games and they offered 35 in store credit only, but then backed out because the ds serial number sticker had worn out and couldnt be read (why something as important as a serial number would ever be trusted to a paper sticker is beyond me ) so we took it to video game trader and they offered us 30 cash or 50 store credit. My son took the credit and we left with like 4 games for his psp and we couldnt be happier with the service no muss no fuss 30 day exchange policy,(EB only has 7 day policy) all in all a great experience we will be going back again and EB has lost some customers.

They low balled me on the items I brought in. I couldve easily gotten more on ebay, or amazon, and the shipping wouldnt have hurt my sale that bad. There is a guy there, kind of bigger with spiked hair. He is a super douche. He is always so rude when I go in. He acts like one of those elite gamers when all he is doing in life is working at a job that probably doesnt pay him living wages. The manager needs to hire friendly people if he wants his business to survive. I have also given this store several opportunities to impress me, or at least be nice, but to no hope. I will say this, if you go, then I hope you get the girl that works there. She was nice to me and my boyfriend.

Tyson was on shift when I went to visit and as soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked if I needed any help. He didnt breathe down my back but casually asked if I was looking for anything or needed help. So on that note great employees. I bought one game because my usual game store was closed but they had it reasonably priced, definitely better than a GameStop or big franchise. Im all for supporting the local guys. They have arcade games in there available to play and even some really.cool retro stuff. Keep up the good work guys. Would have given 5 stars but just make sure to microfiber the games before you resell them, mine was pretty smudgy, but it worked fine.

I brought my sons wii game here because I heard they fix scratched games. I called first to make sure and the guy told me it works 90% of the time. I guess my barely scratched game fell into the 10% that dont work. Very disappointed and would not recommend anyone taking a scratched game there. On the bright side it was only a waste of $3 BUT, I would have paid 3x that much if they actually tested it in store after they cleaned it (or whatever they do) and made sure it works before you leave.
