On 3/16/15 I traded a 2007 Acura TSX for a 2000 Jeep Wrangler. I took the Jeep for a test drive and when I came back I explained that I heard a whining noise. Dan told me that it was the clutch and he took off money from the price of the Jeep so that I could get it replaced. I agreed and was told that everything was in working order. I live about 2 1/2 hours from his dealership. About 1 1/2 hours on my way home the Jeep made a loud clunking noise and stopped. I called for a toe at around 10:00 pm and had them toe it to the closest repair shop. I immediately called the dealership and left Dan a message. In the morning I spoke to the repair shop and it would take them a couple of days before they could get to look at my Jeep. Once they were able to look at it I was told that the transmission was bad. The price they wanted to fix the transmission was more than what I thought it should be. So I called another repair shop in the area and had it toed to that shop(Elliston Auto Repair). I then called Dan and told him that it was the transmission and that I had it toed to a different repair shop. He then proceeded to tell me that the Warranty Company would probably not pay for any of it. He said that they usually find a way to not pay. Dan then told me he would have someone pick it up and take it back to his shop for the repairs. After thinking about it I didnt trust him or his mechanic since they obviously did see the problem in the first place. Dan told me he would have a clutch kit dropped shipped to the repair shop and he would send me a check for $500.00 if I would no longer make him responsible and if I, my family or friends did not post anything about him or his company. I then received a call from the repair shop a couple of days later and they told me that the differential was also bad. He told me that the dealership should have caught this if they had done any kind of check out of the Jeep. He then told me that the transmission didnt have one drop of transmission fluid. I went and picked up the Jeep on 4/8/15 and the bill was $3802.90. Of course on my way home the warranty company called me and told me that they were not paying anything since it was a preexisting condition of the vehicle. In my opinion, he knew he was selling me a vehicle that was unsafe and he didnt even consider the fact that my son was in the Jeep with me.

I recently purchased a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse from these guys, and am editing my original review to reflect my ongoing experiences with Solid Rock. They were very easy to negotiate with regarding the purchase price of my vehicle, and made me feel more comfortable than Id expected walking into a dealership by myself for the first time. The car was purchased as-is, with a 3,000mi/3-month warranty through a separate company. As I drove off the lot, my check engine light came on, which Id say is pretty high up on anyones list of concerns when buying a used car. Dan offered to have the vehicle serviced by their mechanic for free, to avoid the deductible as well as the hassle of dealing with the warranty company- so that I could pass e-check. Awesome! I ended up having to bring my car in for the check engine light a total of 4 times before the issue was finally resolved. While Im certainly happy that everything was fixed for free, it was undoubtedly frustrating and time-consuming to drive from Akron to Garrettsville and miss multiple days of work (Im on a tight budget--hence buying a used car-- and had no backup transportation to/from my job). After speaking with other mechanics, it is my understanding that the issue could have been troubleshooted more accurately from the get go, saving time and money for both the workers of Solid Rock and myself; however, I am EXTREMELY GRATEFUL to have my vehicle running properly!! Id also like to recommend speaking directly with Dan if you have any in-depth questions about your vehicle, purchasing, or any repairs that are being done. The young men at the front desk were nothing but polite and courteous, but did not explain anything as thoroughly as Dan, leaving me with a few questions and concerns (that were later cleared up!). That being said, Solid Rock will do whatever they have to in order to give you a positive and satisfactory experience. I would recommend them to anyone in the area.

This has been the second car that I have purchased from Solid Rock and the first one was a really good car, but after three years and one child later it was about time I got another car. I looked at the inventory online, was able to talk to both the bank and Dan so it didnt take long once I was there. When I got there I told him which cars I liked and I test drove all of them with no pressure! I decided on the car of my choosing and I can honestly say I fell in love with it the moment I started driving it. It only took about half an hour once I chose the car to get the paperwork together and I was out. Well... within 48 hours of having the car it wouldnt start. I was able to get ahold of Dan AFTER hours and he said if I could get a jump that he would call the nearest parts store and have them put a new battery in no charge. I thought that was awesome! Well... We tried to have it jumped, it didnt work. So I talked to Dan again and he told me to have it towed to the dealership and he would meet me there and look at it and if he couldnt get it running that he would loan me another car til mine was fixed. I got to the dealership AFTER hours, around 8 at night to be exact, and there he and his wife were waiting for me in hopes of getting my car working. Long story short he couldnt get it working that night so I drove off the lot with another car. Yes, it may have been frustrating, but I understand. Its a used car and sometimes you dont know what or when something is gonna go wrong. But Dan made the entire experience bearable. He gave me another car to drive while they fixed mine and called me as soon as it was done, with no charge to me what so ever. If you were to ever buy a car from a used car dealership Solid Rock Auto Group is the best place to go to.

Was in the market for a used truck for a while. Every time I talked to a car dealer, it was like they didnt even want to do business with me. I thought I would never find what I was looking for. Until I found Solid Rock Auto Group. I called and talked to the owner Dan and as soon as I got off the phone, I knew this was it! Was very polite and willing to work with my price range. He went above and beyond to get me any information I had requested about the truck and was pleasant to work with. I am from Cincinnati so it was about a 4 hour drive to the dealership. At first I was just a little nervous that when I got there the truck wouldnt have been as described or he wouldnt honor the price we talked about. This WAS NOT the case at all. The truck was just as he described with no problems what so ever and he honored the price he gave me on the phone. Truly a great business man. His mechanic was fixing a small leak in the radiator and accidentally broke the radiator. Knowing I had driven from Cincinnati, Dan dropped everything he was doing and focused his attention on putting a new radiator in the truck. Had it done within a few hours and had us on our way. Anytime I need a used car, this is the place I will be going. No questions asked. If you are considering buying a car from Solid Rock, dont hesitate or look any further. They will take care of you! Have had the truck for about a month now and I still absolutely love it. Thank You Dan and Silas for a truly great car buying experience!
