My father gave my son a remote control bug style vehicle for Christmas. The unit would not go into reverse or forward. they took it back to the store a few days after Christmas and was able to return the vehicle and get something different. My son went to use the new car after charging the battery and the reverse did not work on the new car it! My mother called the store and asked for assistance and help with the issue. The worker at Hobbytown USA directed her to go on the manufacturer website to activate reverse and if that didnt work she would need to call the 800 number and deal directly with the manufacturer as Hobbytown will not return it. A few hours later there was no useful information found on the website. at this point we proceeded to call the 800 number and the automated message said the hold time was upwards of 60 minutes. We did not wait 60 minutes and hung up and decided to go to the store. I returned to the store and explained how the vehicle would not work in reverse and the 800 number you gave us was at least a hour hold. He said he would look at the vehicle but he would not exchange it or return it if it didnt work. Thats not how warranty claims work. I told the associate Im perfectly fine seeing if he can correct the problem with the car and I also said to him If the problem is not corrected we are going to have a problem because the 800 number is a joke and he just took it home today. The employee then told me "you dont come in here and talk to me this way" I was shocked as he got so defensive. (at this point and never did I threatened him or yelled at him nor cursed once.) I explained I have a right to be upset because he had two cars from here that never worked and it was his Christmas present. Also he should not handle a customer in such a poor unprofessional way. He claims I threatened him by my comment. I told him I never said I was going to beat him up. He said how do I know that. I said this is ridiculous and he said who do you think you are. I said the customer who has been having issues with product form this store and now with the employee. At that point the situation was getting out of hand and even the other young associate working on a car was going to join in. So me the customer with the problem had to defuse the situation. I asked that everyone relax and calm down and when my son arrives with his grandmother lets see if its actually a problem and if it can be fixed. If a unit needs to be called in to the manufacturer for warranty repair after it has at least been used for a week or so I understand that. But not if the car is brand new straight out of the box. as a consumer this should not be my problem. The retailer should be willing to rectify this issue by exchanging, returning for same or different product. The store needs to deal with the manufacturer at this point and not force there customer to do it. They most likely will loose that customer and get a poor review on google and other places. I asked the associate if they had a battery or if he needed to bring a charged one and they said to bring one charged. At that point I called my son in the car and he said he will have to go back home to charge it. He is suppose to go tomorrow at noon. I gave 2 stars because: on the plus side: -They would look at the vehicle and see if they can fix or show us how to activate reverse. -They returned the first broken car and sold us a different one. on the negative side: -Would not be willing to replace a second broken car (if its broken) after he just received it a few hours earlier. and make us call the 800 number and deal with them, and mail it to the manufacturer for repair. -The employee snapping and going off the deep end. Very poor customer relations. Most likely poorly trained. _The way he could care less to do anything if he wasnt able to correct the problem. I will update this thread after tomorrow and if theres further issues. Update: Associate fixed car. Replaced jumper. Changed rating to 3 stars. But still looses 2 stars from issues in store.

Some woman who called herself a "manager" said to me that I am a 5 year old for bouncing a ball literally once on the floor? She also said she will be better off in life than I will be, but shes the manager of a hobby store at the age of what looks like 70. Dont think that statement is true considering how many years of my life I have left. What an amazing staff! Edit: Another individual asked my friend and I to leave while we were looking at products. I asked calmly, "What did we do?" We were very confused. He was previously very "nice" to us talking about how we got our money compared to how he did when he was our age, even though he was indirectly calling my friend and I bums which is incorrect. This man said that he had used his dad money at my age, and accused my friend and I of never having jobs. He then said to my friend and I after we looked confused, "Im sorry what?" I replied along with my friend, "What did we do?" Him, "Huh? Do you not understand what Im speaking to you?" I said, "I mean I understand what youre saying but what did I do?" I tried not to laugh, we were literally walking through the store looking at stuff at this time. He just neglected our question 5 times and probably listened to the older woman about me bouncing the ball, and threatened to call the police, as he proceeded to yell with literally no one else in the store. These older people are definitely crazy, and heavily troubled individuals for bothering my friend and I. Never coming here again for any shock lube/traxxas ever again.

Received bad advice from clerk at store over a Venom pro2 charger and Venom 5000mah battery for a traxxas rc truck. Bottom line they would not stand behind their bad advice and after 3 days of a battery I cant use and isnt compatible with my stuff they wont refund my money. Disappointed and will never go to store again. Nothing but excuses poor customer service. Ill try Cyclone Hobbies on Karl Rd in Columbus. BEWARE OF THIS STORE...

The technician here is extremely helpful. I was at a loss with an RC car motor system and it took him all of three minutes to figure it out. He explained three separate products to me and explained the difference between the three. Help like this almost seems to be a rarity these days, to see it at a smaller shop like this earned them a customer.

Zero stars! Sold me bad batteries! Rude as they come. They give bad advice! They dont refund for bad products unless you cause a scene. Go to cyclone hobbys or anywhere else. I will never buy from Gahanna location again!

If your someone who likes to fly quads or just want to buy a basher this is your place. If your a racer who wants parts motors/esc ROAR legal stuff look elsewhere. The guys are very knowledgeable on most stuff esp. quads.
