My wife & three children all wear glasses (one wears contacts), and we have always gone to Harris Opticians for their friendly & fast service. Dr. Sheri Reed provides excellent eye exams, and the staff is pleasant to work with. For a small, traditional office, they do a great job in providing a great selection of eye-wear, and if they dont have something in stock, they have always been able to find it, and have it delivered to the store. If you are looking for a mongo-sized mall store, with "eyeglass consultants" who might as well be working at a Jiffy Lube, this isnt your place. But if you are looking for a small, locally owned & operated, well established, full-service optician, who will know you by your name, then Harris Opticians is your kind of place. Five Stars Plus!

Expensive. Charged a "contact lens consultation fee" whether you got the "consultation" or not. Was told that contact lens exams are more expensive, but was not explained why as I was not fitted-- just went by old fit. The owners son did not know how to operate the "state of the art" glaucoma test equipment. Made a big fuss over how great it was, but it wasnt. Took him forever to work it. I dont really mind the puff of air. I just mind sitting there while it takes him forever to do it! Also, every other time I have been able to get a copy of glasses and contact lens prescriptions at the same time. I was told I would have to come back for that. As if.

I have seen Dr. Reed for over 5 years. She has found issues that a senior eye surgeon in town (to whom I was sent for a referral) said were most unusual to be noted by an OD. She gives a most thorough eye exam. I found it to be more in depth than that of many Opthamalogists. The glasses I have chosen have been on the expensive side, but that was my choice, not theirs. I have never had any issue with any of their lens, which is more than can be said for some of their competitors. You get what you pay for. Here, I believe, you get a little more qualitly and care.

Pulled up at 12:25... Yes its 5 minutes before they close but they saw me pull up and closed the blinds. Waved goodbye to me. I was interested in supporting a local business. Really just needed to know if they had some rimless frames that I might be interested in. Could have come back and finished the order later of they had what I needed. Glad that as a local business they have all the business they need.

Dr. Reed is a very caring doctor who really listened to me and gave me her full attention. Good magazines in the lobby, I didnt have to wait very long, and the entire staff was super helpful and efficient. They even went above and beyond when I requested my receipt faxed to me a month after my appointment. Would definitely recommend.

The most pleasant experience I have ever had in a doctors office. For the first time in many, many years I actually felt welcome when I walked in the office. And the best part? They CARED about ME the patient and not the almighty dollar. Refreshing in todays environment.
