Try not to let this confuse you. The Home Depot does not offer a veterans’ discount. They offer a DISABLED and RETIRED veterans’ discount. This means that if you have a service-connected disability or you served 20 Years in the military, you get a discount. If you’re just a plain old veteran, you don’t. 3 weekends a year, there is an ALL veterans’ promotion. This is the policy straight from the store manager’s mouth. Go to Lowe’s where they give all veterans a 10% discount. You didn’t need to get your leg or arm blown off, or sacrifice a third of your life to get it. 4 years of voluntary active duty service will still cut it at Lowe’s. You need to have a VA Healthcare Card or another card that shows you receive VA benefits. If you want to use just your DD-214, then you have to wait for the same 3 weekends as at HD. Go figure. Lowe’s still got it more right than HD.

I had the worst experience here buying a swing set and patio table at this location. I purchased them at the service counter. The woman who rang us up seemed that we were a bother to her. I then went home to get my truck. I came back an hour later and checked in to get help loading my truck. She had me sign a receipt and told me I could wait by my truck. After a half hour and about five other customers getting help to there car, I went inside to get help. I went inside to voice my displeasure and the woman said that they were still trying to find someone to get my patio set. I dont believe this. I think they just forgot. So I went outside and waited another 30 minutes. I finally had had it with this place. I went in and got a refund and will not be back. Horrible customer service. Shop somewhere else.

I would have been okay with this store but, I have been trying to get a job with them I had an interview and they said I did well and they would call me for training! Ive been waiting on the call for 3 weeks I keep calling and they keep sending me to The HR Manager! She never answers and she never was at her desk I called her and left 3 messages and she has not returned any of My calls I am getting very aggravated! They claimed that they are looking for help but they do not act like it. Not only that I finally got through and he told me they didnt pick me they found someone else. I am like okay But you told me you was going to call me for training he said my apologies I just hung up on him and then I saw the same job uploaded and updated a few days after. If you want a job do not try to get it here.

I ordered carpet on sale from this store. Unfortunately it took two weeks to get on the schedule for the contract flooring company Romanoff. The day of the install they called to cancel because the truck broke. Apparently renting a truck to complete the job was out of the question and I was offered another appointment 10 days later. After having completely broken down my house to have the carpet installed by Romanoff, I wasnt about to give them a second chance to screw me over. Canceled the order and received a full refund. Avoid Home Depot flooring as long as they are using Romanoff renovations.

I have shopped at this Home Depot for several years. I return, because of the good service I always receive. But this time, it was awesome, so I wanted to write and thank Jan, my assistant, for her help with my BBQ grill purchase. She met me with a warm welcome at the door, and from there walked me through their grill selection, helped me choose one with her knowledge, and then found more help to get it to the cashier. This was done with warmth, humor and professionalism - one of my best sales experiences in a long time. Thank you, Jan, for your great help.. and thanks, Home Depot, for hiring her!

They wanted to charge us $60 for shipping from their warehouse to their store! I wanted a stove top there and they didnt have it in stock. Why in the world would any company charge a customer shipping from their warehouse to their store. It would be the same to ship it to my house. get with the times Home Depot. Free shipping is a big thing! Bought it at Lowes. No shipping charges.. thank you very much!

Brad was wonderful with the hot water heaters. Wealth of knowledge! Will be back to pick up tomorrow. However, at the desk over by doors, we were looking to replace our back door, I think those guys must have been having to hold the desk down cause they werent budging. Just pointed the direction we should go. Needless to say, we couldnt find what we were looking for... So Lowes it is!

Excellent customer service and everything you need to get the job done. Join the pro xtras program to get discounts on things you purchase frequently, also keep track of your total annual expenditure. Get the app to locate every item in the store down to isle and bay number, without asking anyone.

I came in to just get a 1 pipe cut...the cutting station wont do it, and the tool center said they would but it wouldnt be anywhere near perfect. Why would I come to a professional hardware store for a shoddy unprofessional service? JUST GO TO LOWES. Its on the same street, walking distance.

Very Disappointed with this store! I tried to purchase a washer and dryer set to have it delivered to my home. They told me that they do not do delivery on items they have in stock! Seriously? The sales girl who was helping me was really nice and apologetic, I have no complaints about her.

The Home Depot store in Winston carries more power tools and selection than all the local stores in Wilkeboro combined. I was so amazed when I made my first visit. I was real pleased with the selection. The only negative is they should keep more than one register open.

I love Home Depot and this is my favorite of the locations in Winston Salem. The staff are helpful and more importantly, if they dont have an answer they try and find someone who does. The location can be difficult to get into and out of with the traffic in the area.

Ordered carpet though Home Depot, which uses a third-party installer, Romanoff Renovations. They cancelled the installation with little notice due to a problem on their end and put me at the back of the line. Will never order carpet from Home Depot again.

Great location and superior service here. Sure, you will occasionally get someone who hates their job but for the most part the staff are very helpful and point you in the right direction. Great BEHR paints sold here and good appliance sales as well.

On 8/25/15 I came into the store at 1000 hanes mall blvd, Winston-Salem, NC store and bought a new Ryobi power head and a new expand-it 9" edger. The power head works great but the edger, when I opened the new box, was used. WTF Home Depot
