As you can see by the sign, theres an incentive to buy a third book. Being the series I am interested was included on the table: Outlander Series by Diane Gabaldon, I selected 3 in the series. With my 3 books, 2 more on WWII, a calendar, Christmas cards and book marks, I proceeded to the register to pay. The cashier was quite new and inexperienced, so when the 3rd book didnt ring up free , I requested she ask someone else. Jason a manager was her go-to. He was quite condescending (as even stated by the family members who were with me) and bordering rude. He asked me to show him the sign on the table after arguing with me about it for a minute or two. We walked almost to the back of the store and I showed him the picture (attached), he continued to argue my books didnt qualify. He gave me no clear answer why not, although the series was on the table with the sign of the special. His approach was anything but managerial as Jason gave no explanation or resolution. Very frustrating.

The place is always clean and cool. The problem with it is that they dont even pretend to care about the fact that half of the shoppers are of a different political persuation. Their featured books are always leftist or anti-God. You can count on finding a book about the irrationality of Creationism next to one about how the colleges arent politically correct enough, right as you enter the door. Books that are different are always hidden in niche sections. It is incredibly polarized. If youre even slightly conservative, dont expect to feel welcome.

Barnes and Noble is about the only bookstore left standing and with good reason. They have cultivated a lucious yet comfortable atmosphere for browsing items that can often be purchased more cheaply online. It is a place for friends to meet for a cuppa or to share study time. It is a perfect go to for an individual killing some time. Lastly, and most obviously, it is a great place to buy books and games and gifts. Do yourself a favor and stop by.

Clean store, great variety, but located at a very busy block of Winston-salem shopping. Staff is not always friendly or helpful. I asked at the beginning of spring semester if a specific book was available and was cut off mid-sentence and told they dont sell text books in the store. There was no offer of email or perhaps place an order for pick up at this location. Cafe staff is much friendlier and accommodating to patrons.

People like to grocery shop rather than order groceries online. Similar reasons can apply to why I enjoy going to B&N. Go in, get a coffee, and look through sections of books rather than specific ones. Why get a magazine subscription if you dont know you will like several issues? Can look through hundreds to find one that best fits your taste.

Great Barnes & Noble location in terms of customer service, cleanliness and room to browse for a while. They have Starbucks in house which is great because of the wonderful coffee and tea aromas wafting through the building. Great selection of e-readers, books, childrens books and unique gifts for anyone of any age.

This place is fantastic. Its one of the only places in Winston Salem that understands that some people like to do things past 9 PM. I wish they would have board game nights here because they sell X wing and other board games but dont have game nights. They should because they have everything needed for it!

The store is really good for browsing books. They have a huge collection of different genres like mangas, comics, and other cool stuff (:P). Getting the books by yourself is much better than ordering them online, and you know if you got the book in a good condition. Customer service is also really great.

Ive been going to this Barnes & Noble since I was a kid and its always been awesome. They have a huge variety of books as well as specialty collectibles and their cafe is nice too. Its nice to see that this store has been kept up so well over the years.
