My friend and I wandered in on the way the way from Asheville to the Smokey Mountains without knowing what it would be like inside. As soon as we walked in we got so excited we went back to the car for our books and stayed for several hours. Its the most spacious coffee shop Ive ever been to in my life, and even if it was cut in half it would be bigger than most. It has incredibly comfortable chairs and many large tables to accommodate groups of all sizes. The baristas are very sweet and my Tarzan and Jane salad was huge and very good! It only got better when we walked outside and saw the picnic benches by the river. It was a delightful surprise!!

Based on these reviews, we passed 5 other coffee shops and rushed through on the way to the Ashville airport. I am happy and sad to say that this is the best coffee shop Ive ever been to. Happy, because of the find, sad because I OWN a coffee shop in Ybor City, Florida. This is better than ours will ever be. The roast their own coffee, they take it SERIOUSLY, and the rear deck with the flowing stream just puts it over the top. Worth being late for your plane!!

From the moment I walked in, I was taken with Panacea. If I lived in Waynesville, it would definitely be my hangout. I love the exposed brick walls and beams. The staff was very pleasant, and I love the view of the creek behind the coffeehouse. The food was excellent and so were the beverages. I bought a bag of delicious coffee that Im going to savor for as long as possible. This place is highly recommended, and it will be on my list if Im in that area again.

Fantastic setting, spacious with tons of great seating. Outdoor tables right by the river. Its beautiful. Wish I could be as excited about their espresso. I found it quite dark and bitter. Perhaps that works if your average customer is used to Starbucks. I also felt the lunch options were way overpriced. $10 for a ham and Swiss? Ill be back when Im in Waynesville. Great spot to hangout. Ill just get something other than espresso to drink next time.

Only got to experience this place for about 15 minutes before they closed, but it was so nice. I have experienced many-a-coffee-shop being from the Northwest. Sat in the chairs facing the creek enjoying my white chocolate rasberry scone (so good and moist, not dry even after an entire day) and my lavender black tea vanilla latte. I rate these menu items a TBO (taste bud orgasm). Plenty of seating and nice ambience. Thank you!

We went for food but were too late, however the coffees were very good. Very interesting building - like a industrial conversion. Super terrace /patio area at the back overlooking the river. Bags of space inside and out. Free WiFi, pleasant staff. Looks like a good Brewery next door.

The best coffee shop I have found in WNC. My sister lives in Florida and near her house is a coffee cafe called The Drowsy Poet. It is amazing and I have wished so many times for a place like it. Now, I have found it! Love the atmosphere and the coffee. Cannot wait til my next visit.

For the area Im sure this is top notch. No pour over option though and a "regular coffee" came out of a carafe. The back porch is fantastic and peaceful. Didnt sample the food options but everyone else here was chowing down. Great atmosphere!

Ive had better, but Ive never had worse! This place is filthy, they make customers clean their own tables! I would avoid this place, unless youre feeling charitable and just need to throw money away, otherwise just dont go here.

This is my favorite coffeeshop in Waynesville. They have a super comfey atmosphere, and a super experienced friendly staff. Their food is a bit pricey for what you get, but their drinks are well worth it.

I love and miss this place. The food is a bit expensive for what you get but it does taste good. The drinks are all great. The best part is sitting outside by the stream and petting their kitty, Siobhan.

A delightful coffee house and eatery. Great coffee, good food, a wonderful environment. Sit on the banks of Richland Creek, sip lattes, work a while and throw a fly or two into the creek.

Visiting from Texas and this café is to die for. Even though your in Wanyesville, Panacea takes you to an escape. Amazing atmosphere, view and coffee. I wish they had a Panacea near me.

Cool place for coffee and sandwiches and dessert, the stream is out back. Love it, can sit on back deck and listen to a calm stream or walk down to it and get beautiful pictures.

Great food, a half- notch above Panera, ABC, MCalisters. Cool atmosphere. NO DEBIT/CREDIT CARDS (which is weird). Kind of stingy with drinks and napkins. Staff are hipster.

Amazing food, atmosphere and coffee! It is a "must go to place". You can relax outside by the river at one of the many wooden tables or find a little comfy nook inside.
