My husband and I went in with our daughter. We live in Virginia and made special plans to come to this EA store by putting it in our GPS. We needed new bedroom furniture, new den furniture as well as a new kitchen table and other pieces. We were greeted by Helene and she was super helpful. She even offered to come out to VA to help me with colors and measurements! We walked around the entire store looking at the different items that I inquired about, as well as me showing her pictures of my home so she could see paint colors and current furnishings. While we were in the fabric room, her sales manager, Lynne Garguilo, came over and asked her to speak to other customers that had arrived, so she did; even though there were 3 other people at the front desk. I looked at my husband and said "Did that just happen?". I went over to the sales manager and asked her if she just took my sales person from me and she said yes. I informed her that I was planning to buy about 4 rooms of furniture, gave her the catalog back and let her know that I was in sales and that was the WRONG move. In my profession, if the sales manager were to come over and tell the sales rep to help other customers our business would shut down. Maybe it was because I had a child in a stroller? Maybe because my husband has a tattoo? Maybe because she thought we couldnt buy? For whatever the reason, she lost a big sale and a potential life-long customer. In their defense, Helene called us and left a voice mail and the sales manager sent us an email apologizing explaining that they were busy and low on sales reps. I find this hard to believe when there were three employees at the main desk including the sales manager. A real sales manager would have gone out on the floor and assisted the customers until a sales rep was available. Helene was lovely and we are disappointed that we wont have the chance to work with her.

Based on the quality and durability of two rooms of furniture that a friend purchased from Ethan Allen, my husband and I decided to shop at Ethan Allen when we needed to replace furniture in our family room. We had a consultant come to our house to help us with decisions as to which purchases and fabrics would work best, and we are very pleased with our experience. As a result, we purchased two "Emma" chairs and an area rug and pillows from Ethan Allen. If they had sold a slip-covered love seat at the time, we would have purchased it there as well, but they didnt. Our consultant suggested the red-checked rug. I never would have considered that, but everyone who comes into our home is very complimentary of that choice. Even though not our first goal, we were very delighted to find the look we wanted, but in a color scheme that none of our closest friends used. We have been very pleased with the workmanship and durability of everything as well. In fact, our last purchase was made over seven years ago, and because weve enjoyed the quality of the furniture so much, now that we are in a position to purchase more pieces, we are looking to Ethan Allen again. The chairs and rug and pillows have been lived on daily and with no special treatment, and both of the "Emma" chairs, the Karazin rug, and the pillows look just as new as they did the day they were delivered -- except where our dog tore a place in one of the arms. Thankfully, we are able to cover that with the arm covers. :) I highly recommend Ethan Allen. I was truly shocked at the other reveiws. Both my friend and I have enjoyed our purchases for years.

Our experience with both service and quality of product has been nothing short of abysmal. After having spent over $50K with this store, they are arrogant and never offer to satisfy any concerns over quality and other issues. Their goods are totally hit and miss, with terrible consistency based on where the product and/or material is sourced -- however, they are very consistent when it comes to premium prices, not providing customer service, or making anything right for the customer. There are so many other manufacturers and stores for similar items -- it makes no sense to risk doing business with a company who does not value or take care of their customers.

Poor quality, and even worse response to concerns & complaints. Be very careful if ordering custom upholstery. Barely six months old vs. a one year warranty on fabric, and our matching seat cushions are worn through. After sending out an "independent" (paid by Ethan Allen) evaluator it was determined that this was normal wear and tear and not the result of workmanship or material defect. i.e. not covered. Purchase at your own risk. The warranty isnt worth the paper its printed on.

Very Nice People but furniture does not last. Had an amazing looking chair. Right after the warranty ran out while sitting in it, the frame just gave out(only weigh 160). It looks like the staples just gave out. As of this post they have refused to look at it or help with the repair. Excepted more. Buy higher quality elsewhere.
