Do not go!!!!!!! Everyone is cocky and rude at shop. Maybe because its a college and they see a lot of people, Im not sure but they are jaded for sure. I have two full sleeves and I have a good idea what a good shop and artist is. I went in to get my tat, the guy did not even have the tat drawn up right. I rescheduled and told him again what I was looking for. I respect an artist job and you do have to enable them, they are not mind readers. But I went back second time and the artist just copied an image off google and it still was not right. I called him out and pulled it up on google. Im not an idiot. I have been researching images and works all over the internet. He was like " well there not exactly the same......" I pointed out he was right because what he had was a crappy rendition of a true artists work. I eventually walked out after he told me it was "impossible" lol maybe for him. I told him to keep the deposit and I would be happy to pay $100 not to get a tat I was not happy with. I did find another shop and got the work done in Raleigh It turned out amazing. I Wish I could up load a pic of the Impossible So everyone can see what a good tat looks like. I would not ever go back or recommend anyone to this shop.

It was a decent experience. They did a good job on my tattoo but it was way overpriced. I was trying to do a henna like hold fast tattoo on the side of my arm/wrist. I was told it may not turn out like i want but he did it anyway. When he showed my skin wasnt taking the brown we just went back over in black. I get lots of compliments and the font I used makes it lool old school and the guy did a great job with that. I wasnt pleased with how they handled things. Quoted $120 and wanted half the money up front and said it was so they could plan out the tattoo and know they werent wasting time. No prob with that but i emailed my idea and the font but apparently they never got it. Instead of getting up with me knowing we had a set date they waited til i got there and i was lucky enough to have a smart phone where i could access the email with the font attatchment. $120 for a tattoo the size and width of my pointer finger. I got a detailed colored aster flower the size of a small apple on my ankle at Warlocks for $140. I think if you find a specific artist for a big or intricate piece this would be the place to go but I felt they could use some work on communication and a bit better pricing for smaller pieces.

I dont ever write reviews, but feel that I needed to after my second visit to Blue Flame. Im an average college guy and this review is geared towards other average people who want to get a tattoo. That being said, I was treated very well by everyone in the shop, from those who greeted me to the artist who actually did the tattoo. I dont understand the other reviews that say they were disrespected. Anyways, Ive had two tattoos done at Blue Flame, one by Marco and another by Errol. Errol is the owner and Im honored to have some of his artwork. Its one of the best tattoos Ive seen. Be sure to check out their portfolios online to get an idea of all the styles of each artist. Also, some people here have complained about the price of the tattoos at Blue Flame. All I have to say is this: you get what you pay for. If you want a high-quality original piece of art that is done by a professional, youre going to have to pay a little more than if you just walked into any place off the street. If youre going to get a tattoo that you can enjoy the rest of your life, you might as well get it done right because its hard to go back once its been done. Thanks Errol, and keep up the great work. Ill be back for sure.

First, shout out and thanks to Nate who did my tattoo. I loved it and I am very happy with the finished product. I was apprehensive to go because of the guy at the front desk. But I appreciate Nate talking to me about what I wanted and taking the time to talk to me about my options. I went to Blue Flame to set up a tattoo appointment. I wanted a pineapple tattoo on my ankle. When setting up the appointment, I asked the guy at the front desk (whose name I didnt catch) about color. I am a black woman with dark skin. The guy at the front desk was completely dismissive when I asked him about color, as I was trying to see what was available to me and pricing. He said, "well youre kind of dark skinned." Yeah... I know that. However, I have several colors, green, red, and gold in a tattoo on my chest that shows completely fine. He didnt even look at my ankle. It was this dismissiveness that almost turned me away....like black people dont get tattoos or have color in their tattoos. My skin isnt pitch black. lol. Either way, Im glad that Nate made the process better for me and allowed me to decide whether I wanted color.

Do NOT allow the negative comments to deter you from this shop! The artists at Blue Flame are professionals with years of experience. If an idea of yours was turned around or they gave you a suggestion it was probably because they didnt want you to end up with bad work. A tattoo may look perfect in your mind, but when permanetly inked onto your skin end up looking disproportionate or crowded. Also try to imagine the amount of people who make appointments at tattoo shops and dont show up. A two hour session may be a quarter of an artists day...completely wasted. They have bills to pay too. It may be inconvenient to wait a few days on an appointment but the work you will get at this shop is well with it. I have almost a quarter of my body tattooed by Scott Alvarez. He did a custom drawing of a dragon for me and absolutely nailed it, I literally had tears in my eyes because he captured everything I wanted in a piece that was very special to me. To this day my tattoo gets more compliments than I do! The artists at Blue Flame produce quality work that lasts. Theyre an honest group of awesome people with immense talent!

I could not be happier with my new ink!!! Annie was simply fantastic. She is so very friendly and thoughtful, I really enjoyed getting the work done. And the final product? Gorgeous. The color work is fantastic, and her shading creates some really sweet details. The drawing she came up with based on my design and reference materials was really well thought out, and her suggestions for tweaking the original design were totally spot-on. I felt well taken care of by Annie and the rest of the crew at Blue Flame. The only downside is that sometimes getting an appointment can be a long wait. I waited 2.5 months between my consult and getting the actual piece. It was totally worth waiting for. This is by far the best experience getting inked Ive had. i would absolutely recommend them to anyone. I dont think I could be happier! Oh, and I was BLOWN AWAY by the price! Last tattoo I got was in NYC, so maybe thats colored my idea of whats reasonable, but... 3 hours of intricate work across and over my shoulder- $200!!! Crazy!(not that you should get a tattoo based on the price, but... wow!)
